Pink Tutu Blog London: #180 - A Friday Frolic in the Capital!

Hello my darling darlings! It's Friday and you know what that means… Emma's back in London, ready to share another whirlwind adventure in the city that never sleeps (or at least never stops having brilliant performances and dazzling displays)!

I've just hopped off the train from Derbyshire, a quick trip that never fails to make me feel like I'm stepping back into my favourite fairy tale. The train is my chariot, whisking me away to London, where dreams come true… and where everyone will hopefully embrace the joy of a pink tutu (more on that later!)

This weekend, I'm all about exploring London’s dazzling delights, soaking in the city’s unique energy and, of course, letting my love for all things ballet flourish. And what better day to start than Friday? It’s the day I unleash my inner fashionista and get my ballet fix – the perfect blend of glitter and grace!

I've got my favourite pink tutu ready for action. It's a glorious tulle masterpiece, flowing like a cloud and reflecting the London sky like a sparkling dream. It just feels right to twirl through the city's bustling streets, spreading a touch of pink magic everywhere I go. Why, just last week, I saw a young girl beaming after watching me pirouette on the platform at Paddington! She even started twirling herself! I believe every girl needs a tutu in her life. Just sayin'!

Before we dive into my Friday frenzy, let’s take a peek at what's happening in the world of ballet today. For a little theatrical inspiration, there's "The Phantom of the Opera" at Her Majesty's Theatre. It’s the longest-running show in West End history, which means there’s a good chance you’ll catch me singing along! I hear there's even a pink-hued chandelier involved - perfect!

On the ballet front, it's the final weekend of the Royal Ballet’s season of Giselle, so I'll be heading to Covent Garden with a troupe of friends to witness the drama unfold. I just love watching talented dancers breathe life into this tragic love story.

Speaking of London theatre, "Dear Evan Hansen," currently at the Noël Coward Theatre, promises a raw and emotional rollercoaster. I can't wait to see this captivating story that's touching hearts all over the world.

But enough about ballet and theatre – my fashion-loving self can’t resist the siren call of Oxford Street! London is a shopping paradise for a ballet-obsessed girl like me. You see, tutus and fabulous shoes are an absolute necessity when your heart beats to the rhythm of pirouettes! This week, I'm eyeing up a pair of glittery pink pumps from Jimmy Choo – perfect for waltzing around Covent Garden! And what's a pink tutu adventure without a touch of sparkle?

Later today, I'm off to the legendary Liberty London for a spot of vintage shopping. Who knows what treasures await amongst those antique treasures? Perhaps an old-school, vintage ballet tutu with an aura of nostalgia, waiting to be given a new lease of life.

This evening, after a day of exploration and shopping, I’m getting my groove on at a special Ballet Street session at The Pineapple Dance Studios. They offer a great selection of dance classes, and nothing gets me pumped up like a bit of creative choreography! Imagine, a pink tutu surrounded by dancers in a lively studio... It’s the kind of energy I can't get enough of.

For the final touch of magic, I’m treating myself to a performance by the Royal Opera. Their selection of performances is as varied as it is awe-inspiring. I have a soft spot for Mozart’s The Magic Flute - the opera's delicate beauty and graceful movements are just begging for a tutu twist!

London never disappoints when it comes to excitement. I always leave with a new dance move or a unique story to share. That's what makes this city so captivating - its endless stream of possibilities.

And just to show you the pink tutu's staying power, I’ll be visiting the London Fashion Week Exhibit later today. They've got a 'Pinktastic' section celebrating all things pink – fashion, accessories, even art. It’s the perfect place to see how the color pink takes the world by storm.

It wouldn't be a Pink Tutu Blog London without some fashion-tastic snaps. So, make sure to check out my Instagram feed - I'll be showcasing all the fun from today’s adventures, including my latest pink tutu find (which will, of course, have its very own story!)

My mission: to inspire the world, one pink tutu at a time. I truly believe in the power of twirling through life. It's the ultimate expression of freedom and happiness!

Until next week, darlings. Stay stylish and keep those tutus twirling!

Much love,

Emma

Fashion Tips: A Ballet-Inspired Guide to Twirling in Style

Now, let's talk about fashion, shall we? Here's my insider’s guide to dressing like a ballerina with a dash of pink-tutu fabulousness:

  1. Embrace the Tulle: A tutu is a classic choice for any ballerina. Embrace its lightness, flow, and grace with a beautiful pink tulle skirt. Add a touch of sass with a matching pink bomber jacket for a contemporary street-chic look!

  2. Channel Your Inner Ballerina: Embrace silhouettes that flow and accentuate your figure. Look for flowy maxi dresses, pleated skirts, and airy tops for an elegant look with a feminine touch. Think about colour-coordinated elegance, using black as a timeless backdrop for pink. A pink silk scarf will accentuate that ballerina-inspired chic, and don't forget the ballet shoes for those killer, delicate strides!

  3. Dare to Glitter: Embrace glitter and sparkle, adding a sprinkle of glamour with sequined dresses and shimmery accessories. For a sophisticated twist, pair a shimmering top with black skinny jeans and a stylish pink blazer – the perfect mix of modern elegance and bold colour.

  4. Accessorize Like a Ballerina: A sleek ballerina bun is the perfect up-do for a touch of effortless chic. Let those curls down for a relaxed day or pull your hair back for a chic ballet inspired style.

  5. Add a Touch of Pink: Whether it’s a bold, statement piece like a pink dress or a subtle pink handbag, let your personality shine. Pink is a symbol of femininity, grace, and joy – wear it with pride and let your pink heart guide your fashion choices!

Remember, when it comes to fashion, there are no rules. Experiment, express yourself, and embrace the beauty of bold pink!
