Pink Tutu Blog London: #197 - A Whirlwind Friday in the Big Smoke! 🩰
Hello my darling dears! It's your favourite tutu-clad traveller, Emma, back with another delightful London adventure. This week I hopped on a train from Derbyshire, excitement bubbling like a cup of Earl Grey in my pink tutu-clad heart! This week I am dedicating the entire blog post to exploring what's amazing about London, including my own adventures on a jam-packed Friday!
London Calling: It's All About the Journey!
As the train zipped past the lush green English countryside, I couldn't help but imagine the sparkling city awaiting me. I had my trusty pink tote bag filled with all my essential tutu-travelling kit – a book of ballet steps, a sketchbook for fashion sketches, and of course, a travel-sized bottle of my favourite pink perfume.
Arriving at Kings Cross Station was pure magic! The Victorian grandeur, the hustle and bustle of people, the whiff of fresh croissants from the little bakery on the corner, everything just screamed "London". I quickly navigated my way through the station (being in a pink tutu really makes you stand out!), hopped on the Underground, and arrived at my delightful Airbnb apartment in Kensington in record time!
A Royal Treat: The Fashionable Princess!Kensington is just a haven for a fashion-loving ballerina! It's brimming with pretty boutiques and vintage shops, perfect for a girl who adores sparkly tutus, darling! I had to indulge in some retail therapy, naturally. I picked up a gorgeous, dusky pink top, which would pair perfectly with my new feather boa.
The highlight of my morning, however, was my impromptu ballet class at the Royal Opera House! As I danced with such talented professionals, surrounded by opulent decor and feeling the grandeur of history in every step, I truly felt I was living the life of a princess.
Lunch with a View! After the class, I wandered towards Hyde Park, where the air was alive with the laughter of children playing, and the melodic calls of birds in the ancient trees. I settled down by the Serpentine Lake, savouring a scrumptious lunch of salmon salad and a cheeky pink lemonade. I also scribbled down a few ideas for my new blog series, "Tutu Style Guide for City Life!" (You just wait!)
A Royal Rendezvous! This afternoon, I'm heading off to Buckingham Palace! Did you know? The Changing of the Guard ceremony takes place on a daily basis (except Sundays) throughout the year. I’m excited to see all those dapper soldiers, although I wonder how a pink tutu will go down at a Royal Ceremony!
But let's be honest, darling, nothing gets me more excited than a trip to a world-renowned theatre like The Royal Albert Hall!
Under the Spotlight: "The Phantom of the Opera!" 🎭This Friday evening is a total theatrical treat! I'm seeing the iconic “Phantom of the Opera”! A bit of spooky opera drama was just what the doctor ordered after a day of pink delights!
London, You Win!The day has whizzed past, but what an unforgettable Friday in the City! London never disappoints with its magic and charm. It really is a place where dreams are realised, a city that can make any girl's heart dance!
As I finish this blog, I am already looking forward to the adventures that await in next week's London escapade. Will you join me? Subscribe to www.pink-tutu.com for weekly blog posts about London and ballet fun!
