Pink Tutu Blog London: #262 - A London Friday Fiesta!
Hello darlings! It's Friday and time for another London adventure! I've been itching to get back to the capital since my last trip - I just adore the energy and vibrancy of the place, and what better excuse for a visit than a chance to see some fabulous theatre and ballet! This week I travelled down by train, sopping up the view of the countryside from my carriage window (always a lovely way to start a journey!), and after a few hours, I arrived at Kings Cross Station, which is always such a thrill - like stepping into a Harry Potter movie! (Anyone else getting excited for the new Fantastic Beasts film? Me too! I wonder what fantastic fashions they'll have...)
I’ve got a whirlwind of a day planned, so let’s dive in!
Pink and Pretty Power:
I couldn’t possibly leave Derbyshire without a bit of Pink Tutu power, so today I'm sporting a shimmering hot pink tutu with a delicate tulle overlay and a fluffy feather boa – perfectly suited for my London adventures! (I’ve matched my little ballerina bag to the tulle, of course!) To finish off the look, I'm rocking some pearl earrings and a sparkling silver headband – oh, and I'm wearing my lucky ballerina ballet flats (don’t worry, I always have a comfy pair of shoes tucked in my bag for when my feet need a break)!
Ballet Bliss in Covent Garden:
Today's ballet treat is at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden. It’s so exciting to be here! It's such a grand, historical venue - just breathtaking. Today I'm watching the iconic "Swan Lake," one of the most beautiful ballets ever. The grace and beauty of the dancers and the emotion of the story really take me away to another world. It’s the perfect ballet to see in London. Afterwards, I treat myself to a delicious cup of hot chocolate and a croissant in the theatre cafe. (One can't possibly spend a whole day in London without at least one delicious French pastry, can one?!)
Shopping Sojourn:
Now, the grand plan involves venturing out from the iconic Royal Opera House into the exciting streets of Covent Garden. Shopping and dancing, a true pink-tutu-loving girl's day! The market itself is such a magical place – filled with artisan crafts, quirky shops, delicious street food, and just the right kind of vibrant atmosphere that gets your inner pink tutu princess all sparkly and excited. I picked up a gorgeous scarf, a handmade pearl bracelet that perfectly matches my outfit, and (oh, couldn’t resist) the most delicate pink tulle ribbon to add to my ballet shoes (you can never have too much pink tulle!).
West End Delights:
In the afternoon, we head to Leicester Square. Oh my! Such glitz and glamour! London's theatre district is simply abuzz with excitement. The red carpet of The Empire Cinema is beckoning! (You never know what movie stars might be in town... just another day in fabulous London! I'm keeping an eye out for Hugh Jackman!) The atmosphere is simply electric! The air buzzes with a palpable energy – everyone’s talking, laughing, and snapping pictures as they make their way into the theatre!
Dinner Date and a Pink Treat:
No trip to London would be complete without an indulgent meal. This time, we are heading for the charming and delicious Hawksmoor Seven Dials. They serve amazing food, so I have high hopes for the evening! A plate piled with succulent steak with chips is the perfect way to end an action-packed day. After all that excitement, a cup of chai at a charming little cafe called The Masala Zone near Covent Garden was the perfect end to this fabulous day in London.
