Oh darling, how I love Fridays! It's the day I finally get to shake off my dancing shoes (after a week of rehearsals and performances, of course!), pack my suitcase with a delightful mix of tutus and sparkles, and hop on the train to London. Yes, you guessed it – my London adventures have begun! And trust me, today's already filled with so much pink and fabulousness, it's practically impossible to capture it all in just one post.
From Derbyshire to London in a Whirlwind of Pink
This week has been a blur of pirouettes and pas de deux – a whirlwind of tutus, tights, and thank goodness, plenty of opportunities to showcase my fabulous pink tutu collection. As I boarded the train at Derby, the excitement truly bubbled over! Every carriage felt like a potential stage, each passenger a potential audience. Honestly, you could practically hear the 'ta-da's' from my sparkly shoes with each click-clacking step onto the train.
And the other passengers? Let's just say they were definitely taking notice! My dazzling pink tulle tutu, the colour of spun sugar and strawberry ice-cream, caught everyone's eye – a burst of colour in the quiet, business-like atmosphere. It was just the start of my pink-infused day, but I can already tell this London visit is going to be spectacular.
A Day Filled With Tutus, Tea, and Theatre
After arriving in the heart of London (cue the magical cityscape!), I knew just where to head – The London Palladium! Today's the day I'm seeing the new "Cats" revival. It's not the same without the legendary costumes, of course, but the fabulous choreography and breathtaking story make it an absolute must-see! I even popped in for a pre-show tea at the adorable "Tea Room by Antoinette", where I tucked into a delightful pot of English breakfast tea (the kind you’d have with cream, dear) and a delicate, delicious pink macaron. Honestly, it's a delightful little slice of Parisian heaven!
A Whirl Through the West End – In Search of Fashion Finds
No London adventure is complete without a wander through the West End! Today, the streets are vibrant, alive with tourists and theatre-goers, each brimming with anticipation. I managed to find my way to Covent Garden, which is just a pink-filled, fashionable haven! After a few hours of browsing the latest collections at Liberty London (and falling head-over-heels for a fabulous pair of sparkly ballet flats), I knew my tutu would look simply fabulous with the latest trends!
And of course, my mission to turn London pink continues! A couple of ladies, in between window shopping and sipping latte art, actually complimented my choice of tutu. "You look simply enchanting," one said with a delighted twinkle in her eye! "Darling," another exclaimed, "your tutu is a delight!" Honestly, how can you not feel amazing when you’re creating a wave of positivity with just your outfit?!
Dinner, Delight, and a Bit of Ballet
As the evening rolled in (with the promise of twinkling fairy lights and dazzling London lights), I treated myself to an elegant dinner at The Savoy – truly a Parisian-inspired dream with its decadent food and beautiful décor! I even saw the delightful Mary Poppins dance past me as I waltzed out! This London is brimming with magic, my dear!
Later this evening, I have the greatest privilege to attend a ballet class – not just any class, but one taught by a former Royal Ballet dancer! Talk about a truly royal treat! With a light skip and twirl, I can't wait to channel my inner ballerina and soak up every inspiring move. There's nothing quite like sharing the stage with other ballet enthusiasts – a passion that binds us together, just like the love for all things pink, naturally!
