Pink Tutu Blog London: #323 - London Calling!

Oh, darling! I'm thrilled to be back in London. The trains are so much quicker than the buses (which always get stuck in traffic!), and there's just something about arriving at Paddington Station that always sets my heart a-flutter. Plus, it's so much easier to travel in a tutu with all the added space. You should see the look on people's faces when I gracefully alight the train, twirling in my latest pink tulle creation! They're practically begging to know where they can get their own tutu, darling!

This week, I'm channeling my inner West End star, because there are so many amazing things to see and do in the capital, all while sporting my favourite pink tutu! Honestly, who needs a posh frock when you can have a pink tutu that catches every ray of sunshine?

London Calling: Friday Fever

So, here we are! Friday has arrived in all its glory, and my schedule is packed with fab fun and, of course, plenty of pink!

  • Breakfast at The Savoy: We started the day with a delightful breakfast at the legendary Savoy Hotel, their breakfast was divine. There is something about their signature sausage that was just irresistible. Then we strolled across the Thames, past Big Ben and the London Eye, twirling to the rhythm of the street performers, stopping to admire the flower stalls, their vibrant colours were almost as dazzling as my pink tutu!

  • A Royal Treat: The Royal Opera House beckoned! It was ballet day, darling, a matinee of 'Swan Lake', and let me tell you, it was glorious. The costumes, the dancers, the choreography... pure magic! I love watching those talented dancers float across the stage in their beautiful tutus, especially as it reminded me that we have our very own 'Swan Lake' performance next month in Chesterfield!

  • A Shopping Spree: After the ballet, we went to Covent Garden to soak in the lively atmosphere. We browsed the independent shops, a riot of colour and quirky designs. Naturally, I snagged some new ballet shoes for my next performance, and of course, a stunning, fuchsia-coloured fascinator for the next outing, all from a gorgeous little boutique in the heart of Covent Garden.

Dinner & Theatre: The Glamour Begins!

We chose an Indian restaurant for a fabulous dinner. My heart (and stomach) were bursting with flavours, as well as all that yummy chutney and the naan bread. (You haven't truly lived until you've tried a decent naan bread with saag paneer!)

And then the big event of the day - the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane. I felt a thrill in the air as we approached the iconic building. This evening's performance was Chicago. And let me tell you, this was theatre at its most sassy! You know me, I just adore all things musicals, and those dazzling, sparkly costumes really got my attention.

The theatre felt positively electric, I swear I could have sworn I felt sparks fly with excitement as I admired those glamorous, yet totally sassy, outfits. Those sparkly feather boas and sequin-studded gowns just made me glow from the inside out! Every move and word of this production had me in a complete tangle of delight!

Night Owls: A Twirling Delight

After the show, the night is still young! There are so many beautiful restaurants and bars within walking distance of the Theatre Royal, we could easily get our fill of decadent nightcap treats.

But alas, we had a long train journey home to Derbyshire! As I said, I can't be out twirling all night - not when I have an exciting week of ballet classes ahead of me.

And That's a Wrap!
