This week, I've traded the tranquil countryside of Derbyshire for the bustling streets of London town. Just picture me, your favourite tutu-clad ballerina, navigating the tube, my pink tulle skirt swirling around me like a happy pink cloud!
Today is post number 351, a significant milestone for my blog. You've all been such wonderful company on this journey, and I wouldn't have it any other way! My heart swells with every comment, every share, every email - it really is proof that my mission to get everyone wearing a pink tutu is gaining traction! 💖
This trip to London was entirely funded by a beautiful performance of "Giselle" with the Royal Ballet. You see, dear readers, being a ballerina isn't just about pirouettes and arabesques; it's about embracing every opportunity, every challenge, and turning them into a twirling, sparkly masterpiece. And that includes funding my adventures! 😉

The Great London Train Adventure 🚄
I'm absolutely besotted with train journeys. There's something so romantic about being transported to a different place with the gentle sway of the carriage and the comforting chatter of fellow travellers. And what's more fabulous than arriving in a bustling London station with a brand new pink tutu under my arm? (My new acquisition, of course, is from a fabulous shop I found near the station...I'll give you the details later!)
Fashion, Fabulous and Fun: A Shopping Spree 🛍️
Oh my goodness, darlings! London is simply a paradise for fashion enthusiasts. Every shop window screams for attention with a cacophony of colour and design. I spent the morning dipping in and out of the most charming boutiques, each one more exquisite than the last. There was the vintage treasure trove, bursting with elegant gowns and shimmering sequins - oh, the vintage frocks are to die for! - and the trendy shop with the boldest statement pieces, everything from pink polka dot dresses to shimmering fuchsia stilettos (I couldn't resist buying a pair, of course!). And let's not forget about the traditional department stores, brimming with everything you could possibly need, from the perfect pink clutch to the most exquisite lingerie!
Afternoon Delight: Ballet and Tea ☕🩰
Afternoon tea is a quintessential British tradition, and it simply wouldn't be a trip to London without it! I indulged in a truly delightful afternoon at the Savoy Hotel. The elegant atmosphere, the clinking teacups, and the perfectly cut cucumber sandwiches all added up to an experience straight out of a Jane Austen novel (minus the stuffy social constraints, of course).
After my delightful afternoon tea, I made my way to the Royal Opera House for a truly breathtaking performance of "The Sleeping Beauty." The costumes, the choreography, the music...it was pure magic. The story is about love, courage, and the triumph of good over evil, which perfectly resonates with my own passion for sharing kindness, creativity, and beauty with the world.
Evening Delights: Lights, Camera, Twirls ✨
For a touch of West End glamour, I treated myself to tickets for "Mamma Mia!", a musical that celebrates love, family, and, of course, the magic of ABBA! The performance was infectious and full of life, the actors had so much fun and it simply rubbed off on everyone. I spent the entire show beaming from ear to ear! And the finale... oh, the finale! It was a whirlwind of colourful costumes, dazzling lights, and joyous singing that made my heart sing!
Homeward Bound: Reflections on Pink and Twirls 💖
The day ended with a quick jaunt back to Derbyshire, a familiar routine by now. As the train journey carried me back home, I couldn't help but reflect on the wonderful day I had. London never fails to inspire, to energise, to captivate. And for me, a pink tutu is the perfect companion on this journey, a symbol of my passion, my joy, my commitment to living life to the fullest!
