Pink Tutu Blog London - Post #421: Friday Fun in the Big Smoke!

Hello, darlings! It's Emma here, and it's Friday, so you know what that means - another Pink Tutu London blog post! I'm absolutely brimming with excitement because this week, I swapped the rolling Derbyshire hills for the bustling heart of London! That's right, my loves, this weekend I'm exploring the Big Smoke!

You see, as you know, I'm a huge fan of train journeys - something about the rhythmic clickety-clack of the rails and the whizzing scenery just fills me with joy! So, off I went this morning, tutu twirling (of course!), a little bit of "Pinkalicious" in my suitcase, and a whole lotta excitement bubbling in my heart!

London, here I come!

My London journey kicked off in grand style with a scrumptious breakfast at the charming little cafe at the station. It's funny, the ritual of travelling by train brings such a sense of familiarity, yet each journey is unique. The smells of fresh coffee, pastries, and the anticipation of the day ahead – oh, it's a wonderful thing!

A ballerina's delight: London's Theatrical Heart

My first stop was the iconic Theatreland – you can't have a trip to London without immersing yourself in the magical world of theatre, can you? I can't say too much, but let's just say the show I saw today was absolutely glorious! Oh, the dancing, the singing, the incredible costumes, the raw emotion - chefs kiss! I came away feeling utterly inspired!

Speaking of inspiration, my trip wouldn't be complete without a visit to the world-renowned Royal Opera House. It’s truly a magical place! This weekend they’re doing the stunning Swan Lake and of course, I’ll be there soaking up the atmosphere, perhaps a cheeky bit of ballet-inspired shopping afterwards. It wouldn't be a Pink Tutu blog without a sprinkle of retail therapy, right?

Pinkalicious Shopping and Delicious Bites

Now, every fashionista knows that a trip to London must include a trip to the ever-so-glamorous Knightsbridge. I mean, who can resist the dazzling boutiques, high-end department stores, and oh-my-goodness-those windows! My eyes were definitely popping with excitement - from the colourful creations at Vivienne Westwood to the chic designs at Burberry, London really is a wonderland for style!

Let's be honest, I didn't just come here for shopping (although that's a big part!). This weekend I also plan to indulge my sweet tooth at a rather delightful pastry shop I've heard so much about. You see, they have these divine miniature cakes adorned with pink roses... they just scream 'Pink Tutu', don't you think? Of course, the trip to Knightsbridge wasn’t just for the pink and the glitz. The whole atmosphere – from the hustle and bustle to the grand buildings, the history just oozes from every cobblestone!

Sharing the Pink Tutu Love

And let's not forget my favourite part - sharing the love! Today, I had a 'pinktastic' encounter in Hyde Park! While walking by the Serpentine, I noticed a sweet young girl staring at my tutu. She was wearing the most adorable pair of sparkly pink ballet shoes and seemed mesmerized by my bright pink swirls. She was practically begging her Mum for a tutu and – how could I say no?

A quick pit stop at the park's boutique, and soon this adorable little one was twirling alongside me, spreading the Pink Tutu message and adding her own dash of magic to the day. Honestly, moments like that make me realise how powerful and joyful fashion can be – it's a universal language!

Sunday Funday Plans

Tomorrow, I plan to soak up the atmosphere in the vibrant South Bank – from exploring the iconic Tate Modern art gallery to taking a spin on the London Eye – and of course, some fun-filled photography and maybe even a spot of sketching in my trusty notebook (don't judge, it's a ballerina's way of documenting beauty!).

Later this afternoon, I'm off to see 'The Book of Mormon' at the Eugene O'Neill Theatre. You might know it's on Broadway in New York, but here in London, it’s got quite a big following too! I hear the music is catchy and the story is incredibly funny - just the perfect way to end a fun-filled weekend in London, wouldn't you say?

And with that, it's time to bid you adieu, darlings! Don't forget to check back next Friday for another dose of Pink Tutu magic. And don’t forget - the world is a stage, and there’s no stage more spectacular than the one where YOU get to wear a pink tutu!

Love,

Emma

Well, darlings, ballet is more than just a passion, it’s my magic money-making potion! So next week, I’m sharing all my little tricks to turn a ballet love into a travelling lifestyle, and some handy hints for managing travel on a budget. It's time for all of us to chase those dreams!
