Pink Tutu Blog London: #461 – London Calling! (And My Tutu's Ready To Go!)
Hello darlings! It's Emma here, your friendly neighbourhood pink tutu enthusiast, and I'm absolutely buzzing to be back with another London blog post.
This week's adventure took me all the way to the capital city from my quaint little Derbyshire home. As always, the train journey was a dream! There's something utterly magical about watching the countryside blur by, the sun casting that golden glow across fields of green, and all while wearing my favourite pink tutu of course. I wouldn't dream of travelling any other way. You see, dear readers, my pink tutus are like my lucky charm, they bring me joy, and I'm absolutely convinced they help make the most boring journeys fabulous!
London Friday
The reason for my visit? Well, you know how I adore a good theatre show! Today, I'm off to catch "The Lion King" at the Lyceum Theatre, a truly iconic production I've been dying to see! I just can't wait for the vibrant colours, the incredible costumes, and the sheer brilliance of it all! After all, who doesn't love a bit of good old Disney magic?
But before we dive into all things theatrical, let's chat a little about my London outfit! I've been eagerly awaiting this trip and planned my ensemble to perfection, darling. I opted for a flamingo pink tutu – you know, one with a slightly fuller, swisher shape, just begging to twirl! It's topped off with a soft blush pink knitted sweater for a bit of warmth, and I'm carrying a fluffy white handbag for that touch of feminine charm. Now, you might be thinking, a handbag with a tutu? A bit odd, maybe, but hey, that's the beauty of fashion! Sometimes, the most unexpected pairings are the ones that create a truly captivating look, wouldn't you say?
My look was perfectly complete with a delicate pearl necklace, for a touch of elegance and sparkle. And of course, a bright pink lipstick because well, let's be honest, a pink tutu just needs that vibrant pop of colour.
London - Where the magic Happens
Now, let's chat a bit about the beautiful chaos that is London! I love how every corner holds a new discovery, a hidden gem, or just a brilliant opportunity to snap a picture with a friendly red telephone box (a definite must for any budding ballerina!).
The energy of the city is infectious, especially when you walk through Piccadilly Circus with all the flashing neon signs. Oh, the pure excitement, darling! I almost want to pirouette straight into the throngs of people. But maybe we'll save that for the theatre entrance.
And, of course, I couldn't resist venturing into Covent Garden, the heart of London's ballet world. I mean, how could I resist?! I love watching the performers as they take to the street with their incredible grace and talent! They inspire me to work even harder and remind me why I do what I do. And while I’m here, I couldn't resist popping into my favourite tutu boutique. I’m already looking at a few pink additions to my collection... It's quite hard to resist a new tutu, especially in the vibrant colours they have at this place!
Oh! and Fashion!
Now, for some retail therapy! As you all know, a girl can't go to London without doing a bit of clothes shopping! And it just wouldn't be complete without a spot of afternoon tea at a lovely little cafe – where I couldn't resist whipping out my tutu for a photo shoot (it wouldn't be a #PinkTutuBlogLondon post without one!).
Oh, and speaking of shopping, darling, I discovered the most amazing vintage store today. Tucked away on a quiet backstreet, it was a haven of incredible finds, from retro dresses to classic cardigans, all in beautiful muted pinks and pastel colours. I just had to buy a little something for myself, even though my pink tutu suitcase was already pretty full.
*A bit more about me and Pink Tutus *
Speaking of pink tutus, dear readers, it’s funny how people ask me, “Emma, why the tutus?” It’s simple, really! They make me happy! They're fun, they’re fabulous, and they make me feel confident. You see, I want the whole world to be wrapped up in pink tutus.
They are more than just a garment. They are symbols of self-expression, joy, and confidence. A reminder to be ourselves, to dance with abandon and embrace the world with our heads held high, and our hearts open.
I believe we can all wear a pink tutu, you know, figuratively speaking, of course! We can embrace what makes us feel fabulous, find our unique style and wear it with pride, just like my little tutu. We don't have to be dancers to wear pink tutus (though if you are, more power to you!) and we can all bring a touch of joy and pink to the world.

More About London & The Theatre
The evening came all too soon, and it was time for the magical Lion King! The moment we entered the theatre, the vibrant colours, the energy, it was electric! The cast brought such joy and heart to their performance, from Simba's adventurous journey to Mufasa's majestic presence. I even had to fight back a few tears during the heart-wrenching scenes – there’s nothing quite like a Disney movie that pulls at your heartstrings, is there?
After the show, the city felt even more vibrant. We popped into a cosy pub for a pint of cider. There's something magical about sharing a moment with fellow theatre enthusiasts over a warm drink, discussing the show, and catching up on the latest happenings. I couldn't help but dream of all the magical evenings I might experience on the theatre scene, maybe even in the wings of the stage, with my pink tutu shining bright. I felt inspired to put more energy into my ballet classes, and practice, practice, practice! It was time for bed, but I slept with a spring in my step and dreams filled with singing lions and twirling gazelles!
* Back To Derbyshire and the Week Ahead *
My morning in Derbyshire is filled with a bit of routine – it's so refreshing after the hustle of London. I do some light stretches by the window, a bit of yoga with my tutu on, of course! And then, a delicious cup of tea with toast and honey.
I do enjoy the calm mornings at home, and I even do a little baking for myself and my neighbours! A delicious Victoria sponge is always a favourite and the recipe was passed down from my granny!
Speaking of the week ahead, my little pink tutu is going to have to put on its busy feet again. You know, it's never a dull moment with my pink tutus in the mix!
This week, I have ballet classes, and my annual ballet school showcase - all the students will be performing our best pieces from the past year. We will be performing under a beautiful big pink banner with a gorgeous fluffy pink feather boa, for extra pizzazz of course. And who knows, maybe I'll even wear one of my tutus too - just for extra motivation!
I can't wait to see the expressions on the faces of the children as they dance with a whole stage to themselves. But before I get to my weekly routine of ballet classes and rehearsals, I must share some fashion inspiration. I've been absolutely smitten with the whole pastel rainbow trend lately, especially with a pink twist, of course! It’s such a refreshing take on spring and summer fashion, bringing in delicate hues of lavender, sky blue, sunshine yellow and a soft green. I think I've found a few new pink tutus to add to my collection too, in these colours, darling, I just had to!
And so, as always, I'll leave you with this little thought – never be afraid to be yourself, embrace what makes you happy and dance through life like a pink tutu! I'll see you next week for another pink-tastic adventure in the world of ballet, London, fashion, and everything that sparks joy! Until then, stay fabulous!
Love,
Emma
