Hello my darling darlings! It's Friday, and you know what that means... time for a new Pink Tutu Blog post! This week, I've been whisked away to the magical metropolis of London! As soon as I saw those red double-decker buses whizzing past, I felt a twirl coming on! 💖
This is the best way to travel - a long train journey is so romantic! The rhythm of the tracks and the ever-changing scenery make it the perfect moment to get lost in a daydream, dreaming of twirling and leaping and dazzling London with a fabulously pink tutu! (Of course, that's all I think about!).
I boarded the train in Derbyshire, a beautiful county with so many picturesque villages, and said goodbye to my dear old home (for now!). But I was buzzing with excitement, my heart already drumming a lively tempo. London - here I come!
This time, I am financing this trip with a very special ballet performance last week. I twirled my heart out as Juliet in Romeo and Juliet - the audience even gave me a standing ovation! I think I've truly fallen in love with the stage... and maybe a little bit with Romeo too! 😏
Fashion Frenzy in London 🛍️
So here I am in London, my pink tutu in tow (one can never be too prepared!). After dropping off my suitcase at a darling boutique hotel (more about that later!), it was straight out to soak in the city. And first things first? Some fabulous shopping, of course!
There are so many stunning boutiques in London. I feel like I'm drowning in gorgeous fabrics, twinkling beads, and sequins that scream "ballet princess"! 👑
I already have my eye on a brand new, cherry blossom pink tutu - it's a bit of a statement piece, but who says you can't be dramatic in London? 😉 It's a must-have! My purse, however, is not as enthusiastic about the idea... I might need to sweet-talk it. 🤫
Cultural Delights and Delicious Treats 🎭☕
I'm not just here for shopping, though. My soul is bursting with cultural adventure. London is a whirlwind of artistry, music, and theatre, all waiting to be explored. And I'm going to explore it all, darling!
Today I saw a ballet performance that took my breath away. The dancers were so graceful and effortless - their movements literally danced off the stage and straight into my heart! It was a true ballet extravaganza! I even snagged a little chat with the prima ballerina - she said I should consider moving to London, maybe even try out for a place in her troupe! 🤩 (Keep your fingers crossed, darling, I might be London's newest dancing sensation very soon! ✨)
I couldn't leave without indulging in a quintessentially London experience. This afternoon, I found myself sipping the most delicious cup of tea in a little café nestled in the heart of Covent Garden. There was something magical about sitting there, watching the street performers and soaking in the atmosphere. I truly believe there's no place quite like London!
My Favourite Spots in London (So Far!)
So here are a few of my favourite spots so far...
The South Bank: A vibrant stretch of riverfront buzzing with life! Street performers, market stalls, restaurants - you name it, it's there. It’s pure London charm!
Buckingham Palace: Who doesn't love a bit of regal splendour? It's impressive just gazing up at its imposing façade, especially when it's dressed up for a changing of the guard. Oh, to have a castle that grand... (a girl can dream!).
The British Museum: The history buff in me couldn't resist! I could spend days exploring all the amazing artefacts. It's a true window into the past, and I love how London embraces its history!
Pink Tutu Inspiration
One of my favourite things about London is how everyone embraces individuality and expression. I love seeing how people dress - their creativity just blows me away! I've already been inspired to design some new tutu creations for the blog - maybe something with a vintage vibe or maybe something bold and colourful... Stay tuned! 😉
Time for a Tutu Twirl!
And speaking of tutus, it wouldn't be a London adventure without a little pink tutu twirl! It’s the perfect way to embrace the city's energy and excitement, isn't it? I have this vision in my mind - me, in a cherry blossom pink tutu, twirling on a bridge overlooking the Thames, with Big Ben chiming in the background... a pure moment of bliss. 🥰
