Pink Tutu Blog London: Post #478 - Friday 2005-10-28 - Exploring London in a Pink Tutu! 🩰💖

Hello, darling! It's Emma, your resident pink-tutu-wearing travel enthusiast, and I'm back with another London adventure to share. As you know, this week marks my weekly foray into the capital - always a whirlwind of sights, sounds, and, of course, plenty of opportunities to embrace my inner pink-tutu princess! 😉

This week's journey began bright and early on the Derbyshire train. Yes, my journey to London is a regular feature, with every Friday becoming a dedicated Pink Tutu Day for exploring the city! For a gal like me, the train journey is half the fun! As I snuggle into my seat, I’m transported back to my childhood days, picturing myself as a young, hopeful ballerina dreaming of big stages. I can just picture myself twirling my way down the aisles as everyone cheers! (Don’t worry, I refrain from the full-blown dance routine! 😉).

With my faithful travel companion - a beautiful, hand-beaded pink tote bag that complements my tutu, of course - in hand, I stepped out of Kings Cross station and straight into the heart of London's energy. It's so refreshing to get out of the quiet country lanes and experience the city's buzz. The smell of hot coffee and fresh croissants in the air is a surefire way to make my tummy rumble. I was ready to dive into all that London has to offer!

Today’s itinerary is packed full of the pink-tutu approved adventures:

  • London’s Theatrical Delights: Today, I’m seeing “Miss Saigon” at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane, an incredible musical that will leave you in tears and with your heart full of music. I've got a pretty spectacular vintage dress picked out for the occasion. Oh, I do love London's rich theatrical heritage - such incredible talent to be found here, it's a haven for us thespians!

  • Fashion Frenzy at Liberty: After the show, there's nothing like a spot of retail therapy at Liberty's! The department store, a historical beauty located on Regent Street, has so much exquisite fabric, clothes and accessories. The building itself is worth visiting, with a fantastic stained-glass ceiling and a vibe unlike any other shop I know. The beautiful display of clothing in windows is such an inspiration, and I am in my element just admiring the clothes! Today, I'm hoping to find the perfect sequined embellishments for my next tutu creation. Maybe some shimmery accents to reflect the lights on stage, perhaps? We shall see…

  • A Pint at The Grapes: To unwind, nothing beats a visit to The Grapes - a historic pub by the Thames - where Charles Dickens himself was known to frequent. It's such a cozy and traditional English pub with a welcoming atmosphere, so naturally, I couldn’t resist popping in for a delightful pint. Maybe some cheese and crackers too! It's the perfect way to end a perfect day in London.

And don’t think for a second I don’t pack a danceable pink tutu, darling! It might be hidden beneath my trendy London attire, but I am prepared to twirl at any moment. You never know who you might inspire to join in the fun! My dream is for everyone to wear a pink tutu at some point in their lives – even if it’s just for a day!

After all, it’s not about wearing the tutu every day - it’s about embracing the fun, the excitement and the sparkle it represents! A pink tutu says, "I'm going to live life to the fullest," and what could be better than that?

And remember, to see the full magic of my adventures in a pink tutu, follow me on my adventures every Friday. If you're ever in London and feel the need for a spot of pink-tutu inspiration, please feel free to leave a comment or give me a shout - I'd be happy to show you the city through my pink-tinted glasses!

Until next time, darling, keep your tutus high!
