Pink Tutu Blog: London Calling! - Post #482

Hello my darling dears!

It's Friday, the day I get to whisk you away to the wonderful world of pink tutus and all things glamorous! This week, I'm in London! Yes, I swapped my Derbyshire hills for the bustling streets of the Big Smoke, and I'm here to tell you all about my adventures!

This Friday jaunt started with a glorious train journey. I love the rhythm of the rails, the chugging along, the anticipation, the whiff of freedom. Plus, who can resist a first-class carriage with its spacious seating and a glass of chilled prosecco? Just add a twirling pink tutu and it's a symphony of sartorial chic!

I was wearing my brand new hot pink, glittery tutu - it caught the light with every train sway, giving me an extra dose of "ballerina sparkle" as I arrived in King's Cross Station. The platform was abuzz with people - all carrying a bit of their own London adventure in their bags.

The first stop was, naturally, a little retail therapy. What's a trip to London without a foray into the fabulous realm of clothes shopping?! I hit the shops in Oxford Street and then headed to Covent Garden Market for a delicious, vibrant lunch - my heart and stomach were equally satisfied!

Speaking of stomachs, I couldn't resist grabbing some treats from M&S (that’s Marks & Spencer for the uninitiated - absolute lifesavers for yummy lunchboxes and all things delightful). Let's face it, I can't live on ballet dreams alone - a healthy dose of M&S pink frosting keeps my inspiration flowing!

The afternoon was all about the arts - one of my favourite things about London is the wealth of cultural offerings. My itinerary included the Royal Opera House. You'll have to forgive my lack of detail about the ballet itself - I was too busy being swept away by the beauty of the dancers' movements.

You know how I love a graceful pas de deux, a powerful jeté, a dazzling grand jeté - they filled me with inspiration. Not to mention the sheer drama of the setting! This is what dreams are made of! The plush velvet seats, the glimmering chandeliers, the feeling of anticipation hanging in the air. Every element combined for a simply spectacular experience.

But, London isn’t just about the grandeur - it's also about those charming, hidden corners. This week I explored a street full of adorable boutiques. It felt like I was stepping onto a movie set! Quaint buildings, pretty shopfronts, and a charming local pub on the corner - I'm already plotting my next visit!

I am so in love with the energy of London - there's something electric in the air. It’s all about discovering those hidden gems, soaking up the vibe, and, of course, snapping photos of my outfits (pink tutus and London, a match made in heaven!).

Before I left for home, I savoured one last treat: an amazing dinner with friends in Notting Hill. You just can't beat those gorgeous Victorian buildings - oh, how I adore a bit of classic elegance!

So, there you have it. A day in London through the lens of a pink tutu. I'm already plotting my next trip. Perhaps a weekend getaway to see a new ballet production? I have a feeling this is just the beginning of my London adventure.

Until next week my sweet dears, don't forget to twirl and embrace your inner ballerina!

Your London loving, Pink Tutu blogger, Emma

A bit more on this date:

Did you know 25th November 2005 was a Friday? I think we can all agree that Friday is a magical day for starting new adventures, and I'm thrilled I had the chance to experience London in my tutu, like it was made just for me.

Remember, London is an incredible city for everyone - families, friends, solo travellers, artists, and, of course, tutu enthusiasts! Don't be afraid to explore the nooks and crannies of this exciting city. Whether you're here for the theatre, shopping, culture, or simply to take a breath of fresh air, you won't regret making your way to London.

A peek into my London budget:

Let’s be real, funding my London adventures takes some careful planning. As you know, I fund my trips with the grace and talent I bring to each ballet performance. From local recitals to regional stages, every pirouette gets me one step closer to experiencing another amazing destination.

My London journey this time cost me about £150 which includes:

  • Train ticket: I took advantage of an early bird fare. Remember, good planning is key to making your dreams come true!
  • Dinner: It’s so much more fun when shared with friends, so this budget included the most delicious Notting Hill dinner.
  • Show Ticket: Because nothing says London like a magnificent ballet performance at the Royal Opera House. Every time I hear those sweet strains of music and feel the magic in the air, it’s worth every penny!
  • Shopping spree: I'll admit I am a little addicted to pretty things - just a few accessories, of course. But, it wouldn’t be a pink tutu adventure without a splash of shopping!

Fashion spotlight:

  • Tutu of the Day: The hot pink glittery tutu was definitely a statement piece. I paired it with a delicate black chiffon top, sleek black tights, and my favourite ankle boots. A hint of pink in my earrings completed the look - my trademark pop of colour.
  • Makeup Tip: A subtle pink blush, highlighted cheekbones and a touch of pink shimmer around the eyes completed my London look. My pink tutu deserves some dramatic touches, and London is the perfect stage!
  • Travel essentials: Always pack a lightweight tote bag with essentials - you know, my essentials: lip gloss, hand lotion, a pink compact mirror for touch ups and maybe even a little pink ballet scarf in case a spontaneous photo opportunity pops up!

Join the pink tutu movement:

It's all about spreading the joy, you know! This week, share a picture of yourself rocking your own unique style, add #PinkTutuBlogLondon to the caption, and tag my Instagram account (@PinkTutuBlogger) - we’ll create a little pink tutu community together!

Don’t forget, every Friday on www.pink-tutu.com, you can join me for new adventures, sartorial inspiration, and a whole lot of fun!

I'm so excited to be a part of your lives and to inspire you to wear your pink tutu with confidence and to embrace the joy in every step!

Until next Friday, twirl your worries away!

Love, Emma
