Pink Tutu Blog London - Post 537: A Whirlwind Friday in the Capital!

Hello, darlings! Emma here, and oh my, what a whirlwind of a day it's been in London! As you know, this pink-loving ballerina is a regular on the train tracks, making my way to the big smoke at least once a week, always ready for a new adventure. This week, my journey took me on a Friday, so let's delve right into the pink-tastic details!

From Derbyshire to London Town: A Train Ride with a View

Leaving my Derbyshire home with the morning sun on my face, I stepped onto the platform feeling like a graceful swan gliding onto the stage, tutu shimmering and ready for a performance! The train ride itself is always a pleasure. It’s like my very own personal catwalk as I adjust my twirly pink tutu and admire the passing scenery. This morning's view of rolling green hills and quaint villages just put me in the best mood for a day of exploring.

A Royal Rendezvous at The London Coliseum:

My first stop had to be the London Coliseum, home to the spectacular English National Opera! I'm not just a ballerina, my dears, I have a passion for all things theatrical. Today's show, "Carmen," had everyone on the edge of their seats, myself included. The costumes, the music, the powerful storytelling - it all just captivated me. For those of you haven’t had a chance to catch this incredible production, I urge you to check it out!

The Glittering Emporium of Selfridges

After the opera's magical finale, I was in need of some serious retail therapy. I had been itching to check out the Selfridges Christmas decorations, and boy oh boy, was I in for a treat! The giant shimmering trees, the elegant shop window displays, the bustling atmosphere – everything just made me feel festive and ready for a festive dance. I confess I might have splurged on a few gorgeous new accessories - a shimmering pink clutch that matched my new shoes, perfect for a future performance.

A Whirlwind Through the Christmas Market

Feeling utterly rejuvenated from my Selfridges splurge, I made my way to the Winter Wonderland market by Hyde Park. The Christmas lights were absolutely magical, casting a glow of warm merriment over the stalls. I couldn’t resist some of the traditional treats. A hot chocolate, a roasted chestnut and a delicious gingerbread cookie later, I was fully embracing the festive cheer. The market's enchanting atmosphere truly put me in a dancing mood, and I ended up twirling my tutu in the center of it all, just letting the Christmas spirit guide me!

Pink Tutu Chic: Finding my London Style

One thing I love about visiting London is the inspiration you find around every corner. For a girl who loves to dance, there's nothing better than spotting a shop with a vintage, theatrical feel, filled with luxurious fabrics and sparkling trinkets. Today, I stumbled across "The Thread Mill", a delightful little gem that has a gorgeous collection of costumes and accessories. I emerged with a vibrant fuchsia ribbon that will look fabulous in my hair for my next ballet performance! The ribbon is perfect, a touch of London flair, don't you think?

London Lights, London Night:

My London escapade wasn't over just yet. The day had flown by, and London was ablaze with Christmas lights. After catching the London Eye for a dazzling glimpse of the city, I felt the pull of the vibrant West End. As the night settled in, I walked past theaters humming with life, each with a new story waiting to be told.

Pink Tutu Dreams: The Magic of London

The Friday had flown by, leaving a glitter trail of memories. From opera performances to sparkling shops and enchanting Christmas lights, London was brimming with life, energy and of course, my favorite color – pink. London is truly a place that inspires dreams, even for a ballerina like me. I have already begun to dream about my next trip back – a visit to a vintage ballet costume shop and an evening of fabulous West End theater is at the top of my wish list!

Remember, darlings, life's a dance, and the world is your stage. Embrace every twirl, every leap, and every bit of sparkle. And remember: pink tutus can be found anywhere, from the quaint countryside lanes to the vibrant city streets!

Till next week, when I share another pink tutu adventure,

Emma xoxo
