Pink Tutu Blog London: Friday 2007-02-02 - A Whirlwind of Pink in the Capital! (Post #544)

Hello, darlings! Emma here, back with another pink-tastic installment of Pink Tutu Blog London, straight from the heart of the capital. It's Friday, which means another exciting day of exploring this fabulous city, all while twirling in my beloved pink tutu, of course! This week, I’ve swapped the rolling green hills of Derbyshire for the bustle of London, arriving via the wonderfully comfortable and reliable train journey – a real treat! There’s just something so romantic and exciting about the train, don’t you think? It lets you truly unwind and absorb the scenery on your way to your destination, letting your imagination run wild as you plan your day ahead.

Now, let's get to the exciting stuff! Today is all about embracing London in all its glorious grandeur – from captivating theatrical performances and the glittering, shimmering world of fashion, to discovering delightful little tea rooms, bursting with vintage charm. I can't wait to share my adventures with you all.

Before we start our exploration, I must confess that London’s bustling energy always fills me with such a delightful buzz – a true sense of exhilaration! You never quite know what you're going to encounter on the streets, but one thing's for certain: it's never dull!

My London Itinerary - A Whirlwind of Fun and Fashion

Morning: Step into the Realm of Musical Magic

I've had a pretty hectic week performing at a delightful little ballet festival back in Derbyshire, and it's been an absolute blast. But nothing quite beats the magic of seeing a full-scale production on a West End stage. It's the pinnacle of artistic expression, and for this London visit, I was fortunate enough to score tickets for the enchanting "Phantom of the Opera" - my personal favourite, and for good reason! The beautiful melodies, the captivating plot, and the incredible costumes truly whisk you away to a world of pure romance and drama.

Afternoon: Ballet Boutique Shopping Bliss!

After soaking up the pure theatrical brilliance, I found myself absolutely famished! As luck would have it, the most adorable tea room was nestled across the street from the theatre. It was called "The Twirling Teacup" – can you believe it? My love for teacups is practically an obsession, so how could I possibly resist? I devoured a mouthwatering afternoon tea, indulging in delicate finger sandwiches, buttery scones, and delicious cakes – truly a royal feast!

With my tummy content and my mind inspired by the performance, it was time for a shopping spree! Let’s just say that my beloved pink tutu deserved a new friend or two! The wonderful little boutique near Piccadilly Circus, "Pink Paris" - filled with beautiful frocks and the cutest pink accessories - is one of my favourite places to shop! You know what they say – a tutu always needs a good pair of ballet flats. I found the perfect pair of pearly-white flats that perfectly complimented my tutu.

Evening: Back to the Magic of the Theatre

As the sun began to set, painting the city sky in vibrant hues of orange and purple, it was time for another evening performance. Tonight's destination was the captivating London Coliseum. The beauty of these old London theaters, with their incredible architecture and the magic of live performance, just fills my heart with a warm and happy feeling. Today, the Coliseum played host to "Sleeping Beauty", another one of my favourite ballets, performed by the exceptional English National Ballet. It's a stunning production filled with beautiful choreography, dazzling costumes and dramatic storytelling, it truly never gets old!

London Style & the Pink Tutu - A Match Made in Heaven!

London fashion is truly exhilarating and I can’t wait to find ways to incorporate these gorgeous trends into my own style. I love how this city encourages a fearless approach to fashion - experimenting with colours, textures and prints – something I admire so much! There's this beautiful interplay between vintage pieces, modern cuts, and a truly international flair, which is endlessly inspiring for someone like me! And let’s not forget, you just can’t go wrong with a statement piece – my very own pink tutu of course!

For my day of London adventure, I went for a classic silhouette. I chose a black and white polka-dot sundress with a wide black sash cinching my waist - a very Parisian vibe! - to compliment my beautiful pink tutu, and completed my look with my pearl white ballet flats, which perfectly complemented both my tutu and dress. My vintage black-framed sunglasses gave me that cool retro-chic flair and the finishing touches came in the form of my beloved black ballet bag – which can easily fit my must-have ballet flat, make-up and a spare tutu just in case.

I just know my pink tutu felt absolutely right in London – after all, pink tutus go with everything! I can’t wait to share my outfit choices with you in future posts and even share some of my own pink tutu creations and maybe inspire you all to embrace the colour pink – it is simply the happiest, most versatile, and playful of colours! And you know what, maybe even a tutu!

Pink Tutu Reflections - A London Fairy Tale!

This day was all about exploring the city’s vibrant culture and captivating theatrical offerings. Each encounter felt like a new chapter in my London fairy tale! From the beautiful and melodic notes of "Phantom" and “Sleeping Beauty”, to the intricate lace detailing of the gowns I spotted while shopping at the "Pink Paris" boutique - each moment was filled with that wonderful feeling of pure joy.

As the day ends, with my tutu still perfectly intact – and my heart overflowing with happiness, it's time to share my journey with all of you on www.pink-tutu.com. I simply cannot wait to explore more of this amazing city in future visits – who knows what enchanting discoveries and dazzling performances await us next time? I hope that by sharing my little London escapade, I’ve managed to inspire you all to follow your heart’s desire and dance into your own happily ever after. And for those of you daring enough – wear a tutu, it really does make life just a little bit brighter!

Until next Friday, London!

Lots of pink and twirls,

Emma
