Pink Tutu Blog London: Post 553 - Friday, 2007-04-06: Tutuing Around Town!

Oh darling! The train journey to London was as delightful as ever, a tapestry of chatty families, bustling commuters and, of course, the rhythmic clack-clack-clack of the rails against the tracks, like a symphony composed for a dancing tutued-ballerina like myself!

And guess what? It's finally here, my first London blog post of the week, ready for all of you fabulous followers to devour. Remember, this is PinkTutuBlogLondon, the ultimate online hub for all things pink, tutus, ballet and London! Today is Friday, the 6th of April 2007, and oh boy, it’s going to be a tutu-filled extravaganza!

Where are we? Well, I just waltzed off the train at London Victoria Station, a place I could spend hours wandering through - a whirlwind of bustling commuters and majestic architecture. My lovely Derbyshire home is now a mere blur of greenery and quaint cottages in the rearview mirror, but I have London calling!

This week's travels are powered by, drumroll… the captivating performance of "The Nutcracker" at the Nottingham Theatre Royal, where I twirled and pirouetted my way to ballet bliss! Such grace, such magic, such utter perfection! Every penny earned on those carefully honed pliés is paying for this lovely London spree - I do believe the fates are smiling down upon me!

Speaking of London (because, obviously, it is the most fabulous city in the world) - my senses are already tingling with the delicious excitement. The air buzzes with possibility and the streets beckon with whispers of shops bursting with fabulous outfits! A shopping trip awaits!

Fashion in the air? You bet! My trusty "Pink Tutu Blog" diary, filled with glitter glue and delicate feather trims (you never know when inspiration will strike!) is primed and ready for the day's happenings.

What is on today, you ask? Why, a trip to the theatre, darling! My afternoon will be spent enjoying "Les Miserables" - a captivating story of love, loss and redemption - I absolutely adore a good musical! It’s going to be absolutely smashing, I just know it! I can already imagine myself humming the songs and whispering “on my way to the theatre… a truly magnificent day indeed.”

You know what makes this whole journey complete? My fabulous, fluttery pink tutu! Yes, darling, the outfit of the day. Every London adventure needs a little twirling magic, and my tutu does just the trick. It's so effortlessly charming, so graceful and so wonderfully me! I may be taking the world by storm one twirling pirouette at a time!

Now, a peek at today’s wardrobe choice:

Outfit #1: My Everyday Glamour

  • My trademark Pink Tutu (always!) - It's an ultra-fluffy tutu with several layers of shimmering tulle. It makes me feel like a delicate ballerina!
  • A vintage lace top that shows off my love of classic designs - it has the most beautiful pearl detailing and sits just so!
  • White ankle boots with delicate floral embroidery for a touch of whimsical femininity.
  • A tiny pink hat to make me look like I’ve stepped out of a classic movie.
  • A gorgeous pink handbag (because, darling, what would I carry all these precious things in? ) - it's a little pink gem from a hidden vintage boutique!

London calls! Time to embrace the city!

The Theatre Scene: Oh, the glamour!

* "Les Miserables," the production that brought a tear to my eye.* It’s such an epic tale – one that lingers long after the curtain drops. From the breathtaking opening scenes to the heartbreaking ending, it held me captive in a spellbinding mix of musical artistry and pure emotion. I’m utterly besotted with it all – the gorgeous singing, the stunning choreography, the set design, the entire spectacle! I sat, completely captivated, as I was swept up in their story.

Post-Theatre Treats: A delicious supper for a true ballerina!

I can't even describe how hungry I am! All those emotions and the delicious music has worked up my appetite! Time for some delightful post-theatre treats. It has to be a beautiful pink-tinged, scrumptious, ballet-friendly meal!

Tonight’s menu? A delightful medley of colours! A salmon salad bursting with flavours and the vibrant green of a fresh side salad with some sweet-looking watermelon on the side. It's light, it's delicious and it won't put me in a food coma so I can keep the tutus going, darling!

Let’s talk fashion, London!

I couldn’t resist a little wander through the fashion-tastic streets after that heart-stopping "Les Mis" performance. Now, I love a vintage boutique with my entire being. I'm drawn to those little treasures - like stepping into a vintage-themed fairy tale. The vintage finds are always unique, always captivating and bring back memories of glamour and old-school Hollywood glitz!

Today's shopping spree yielded these beauties:

  • A shimmering pink evening gown that I imagine I could wear to the Royal Ballet, - absolutely stunning! It's a silk number with a flowing skirt and beautiful intricate embroidery that’s practically begging to be twirled in!
    • A pair of satin ballet slippers, just begging to be twirled - I’m thinking these will look fantastic for a photoshoot I'm planning back home.
    • A pearl-studded headband – just picture me in that, dancing under the shimmering chandelier of a theatre, It’s the perfect addition to my evening outfit.

London! You’ve completely enchanted me.

Now, I am feeling utterly exhausted. My legs ache (you know, from all those twirls and promenades around the city), and the only remedy I can think of is a blissful slumber - a deep, dream-filled sleep filled with images of ballet shoes, glittering tutus and charming city streets.

*London - I’ll be back! *

I bid you all a fond farewell, until next Friday. Keep those pink tutus twirling, darlings!
