Pink Tutu Blog London: #558 - Friday 11th May 2007 - A Tutu-tastic Adventure in the Big Smoke!

Hello darlings! It's your favourite pink-tutu-clad blogger, Emma, reporting live from London town!

This Friday, I hopped on a train from Derbyshire, leaving the rolling green hills and charming villages behind for the buzz and bustle of the Big Smoke. As always, I travelled in style โ€“ a vibrant pink tutu with sparkling diamantes, of course! Even the fellow commuters couldn't help but smile at my ensemble, proving that even in a city full of black suits, a touch of pink can brighten everyone's day.

After a quick stop at my hotel, I couldn't wait to explore! I started at Trafalgar Square, where the iconic lions, Nelson's Column, and the National Gallery greeted me. I twirled under the watchful gaze of the lions, my tutu flowing around me. Someone even asked me if I was a dancer โ€“ which is basically the biggest compliment one can get, right?

Next on my London list: a spot of afternoon tea at the Ritz. I may have broken my own unwritten rules of "always wear pink to tea", but a tutu wouldn't have been the most comfortable choice amidst all the fancy china and perfectly manicured finger sandwiches! I did, however, ensure that a touch of pink was still incorporated โ€“ with a beautiful rosebud adorning my pink polka-dotted clutch.

A day in London wouldn't be complete without a touch of the performing arts! The highlight of the evening was a delightful production of "A Midsummer Night's Dream" at the Globe Theatre. While the venue is a beautiful reproduction of Shakespeare's original Globe, there was no Elizabethan garb to be found on me! A little black cocktail dress, featuring my signature pink bow and pearl necklace, ensured I stood out in the audience, yet still fit in with the sophisticated air of the evening.

Later, after a quick wander through the enchanting Covent Garden market, I ended my day with a delicious meal at Le Caprice, a timeless London establishment known for its luxurious setting and mouthwatering French cuisine. I paired my favourite red dress with a silver statement necklace for the evening, looking effortlessly elegant amongst the glittering London crowds.

But my Friday wasn't all about indulging! My day started with a rigorous ballet class at the beautiful Royal Opera House. I even met some fellow tutu enthusiasts โ€“ two young girls with twinkling eyes, full of excitement for ballet. Their mothers were clearly huge supporters of their passions, and I was delighted to see a young generation embrace the grace and beauty of ballet. I told them, as I do to everyone, that they should definitely consider sporting their own tutus, both on stage and off!

Remember, ladies, tutus aren't just for the ballet stage. They are a statement! A declaration of confidence and a reminder to embrace your own inner grace and beauty, regardless of your age or circumstances. You want to feel confident and twirl with a carefree attitude? Then put on your own pink tutu, and let the world be your stage.

Fashion Finds & More:

My trip wouldn't have been complete without a little retail therapy! While I didn't score any tutu treasures (though, sadly, none were found), I did find some wonderful additions to my wardrobe at Liberty London! The beautiful Liberty print fabrics and their stunning range of ladieswear really put a spring in my step. My newfound treasures: a beautiful silk scarf (featuring the iconic Liberty floral prints, of course) and a delicate pink feather boa for some added flair in my evenings.

And that's it, ladies, from my day in London.

Follow me on this journey to get everyone wearing a pink tutu! Remember to join me on www.pink-tutu.com for my next blog, every Friday, and spread the love of all things pink!

Until next week, ladies!

*P.S. *

My travels and blog are funded entirely through my ballet performances! I find joy and passion in spreading the love for ballet through my dancing. This week, I'm taking part in a gala performance with my troupe, featuring the exquisite "Swan Lake" ballet.
