Pink Tutu Blog: London Calling! - #559

Hello my lovelies! It's Friday again, and you know what that means… drumroll… it's time for another Pink Tutu Blog post! This week I've been feeling especially bubbly, like a glass of Prosecco with a dash of sunshine. It's because I'm in London, darlings! The big smoke! I just had to make the trip this week to see The Royal Ballet performing Giselle, and naturally, I took the opportunity to explore this magnificent city.

But let me tell you, getting to London by train is almost as fun as the city itself! The Derbyshire countryside whizzes past my window, and I'm lost in my own world of daydreams, twirling fantasies, and the delicious anticipation of arriving in London.

Speaking of arriving, I'm staying at a little boutique hotel near Hyde Park, it's all cream and floral prints, perfect for a pink tutu loving girl like me! I arrived early, so after a quick change into my favourite, shimmering, cherry blossom pink tutu, I ventured out for a bit of London-style retail therapy!

A Pink Princess in Oxford Street

It wouldn't be a London adventure without a trip to Oxford Street, and let me tell you, the streets were teeming with life. I must admit, I love the buzz of this part of London. From the chic flagship stores to the hidden vintage boutiques, there's a little something for every kind of shopper!

Of course, I'm always on the lookout for the most glamorous accessories and delicate jewellery for my tutu collection. I discovered this gorgeous pearl hair clip with tiny pink flowers, oh it was just divine, and couldn't resist adding a fluffy pink feather boa for my upcoming evening adventures. Let's be honest, one can never have too many boas, especially in a pink hue!

The Heart of the City: Covent Garden

From Oxford Street, I made my way to the heart of the city – Covent Garden. Now, this is where things really started to sparkle! This charming, historic market was overflowing with the most delightful little boutiques and stalls.

It's practically impossible to go to Covent Garden and not indulge in a bit of street entertainment, and this afternoon was no exception! A street ballet troupe were performing a beautiful rendition of Swan Lake. Oh, they were so graceful, every movement so fluid. It brought a little bit of ballet magic right to the cobblestone streets, and naturally, my own pink tutu practically started swirling on its own!

Speaking of magic, just across from the market square was a charming little cafe with a gorgeous, floral themed courtyard. I indulged in a heavenly slice of strawberry and cream cake, washed down with a glass of sparkling pink lemonade, because well, wouldn't you?!

Ballet Dreams Come True: Royal Opera House

As the sun started to set, it was time for the real treat – The Royal Ballet at the Royal Opera House. Giselle has been on my must-see ballet list for ages, and I was absolutely thrilled to see it.

Honestly, I could talk for hours about the beauty, the technical prowess, the drama of Giselle. But let's be practical – you should see it for yourself! Trust me, it's absolutely worthwhile.

The whole evening felt like I was living in one of those fairytale stories, but with real-life charm and glamour! After the curtain call, I felt the most wonderful kind of exhilaration and contentment. I had finally seen Giselle and even met one of the dancers who so kindly agreed to pose for a picture with me. I may have been a bit over-excited, but she just laughed and said I reminded her of the pink tutu fairy, and that's all the encouragement I need, isn't it?!

The Perfect Ending: Afternoon Tea at Fortnum & Mason

And what's a day of dancing and shopping without some proper afternoon tea? I made my way to the iconic Fortnum & Mason for a delicious feast. It wasn't just tea, darlings – it was a truly decadent experience! Sandwiches, delicate pastries, perfectly made scones with clotted cream and strawberry jam – you name it! Of course, everything was perfectly pink, even the china!

With a full heart and a rumbling tummy, I stepped back into the cool evening air and said goodbye to another fantastic day in London.

More London Adventures: Stay Tuned!

But that's not all! My London adventures don't end there. My weekend will be filled with more sightseeing, more pink tutu-inspired discoveries, and of course, more beautiful performances to soak up the magic of London's theatrical world.

So, keep an eye out on www.pink-tutu.com next Friday, for my next London blog post, where I'll share even more exciting discoveries and tales from my time in this beautiful, bustling city!

In the meantime, keep twirling and keep your sparkle shining, darlings! And remember, if you see me, a pink-tutu-clad ballet fairy fluttering around the London streets, feel free to wave – I love making new friends!

Much love, Emma x

P.S. It's been such a long week, but just a quick reminder, I am so grateful for all your support. Thanks to your encouragement, I can continue my ballet dreams and travel the world! It means everything to me. I can't wait to continue to share all of my adventures and hopefully inspire others to get out there, embrace their passion and wear that pink tutu! It's never too late!

P.P.S For those who might not know, I support my travel and ballet lifestyle through my performance work. If you're ever in the UK, keep an eye out for upcoming performances!
