Pink Tutu Blog: London Calling! (Post #571)

Hello my lovely darlings! It's Emma here, your favourite pink tutu-wearing, ballet-loving blogger, and this Friday, I'm bringing you all the glitz and glamour from the big smoke itself - London!

Now, I know what you're thinking. "London? On a Friday?" But you see, my dears, that's the beauty of travelling by train! No airport hassle, no security checks, just a steaming cup of tea and a good book to set the mood for a fabulous weekend. It's the most elegant way to travel, don't you agree?

And so, here I am, freshly arrived at King's Cross, my trusty pink tutu feeling the crisp London air. The smell of fresh coffee and hot pastries wafts from every cafe, the streets are abuzz with people rushing about, and it all makes me want to twirl! London, you’re already intoxicating.

My Friday Adventures Begin!

First Stop: The Royal Opera House!

It wouldn’t be a true Emma trip to London without a ballet performance. And luckily for me, there was a fabulous performance of Giselle happening tonight! I'm a huge fan of Giselle – the romantic story, the beautiful choreography, the stunning costumes, and of course, those magical Wilis. Honestly, I think everyone should experience it at least once in their life!

Shopping and Delights

But of course, ballet wasn't my only reason for coming to London. It wouldn't be a proper girly weekend without a little shopping!

I always feel a bit lost in the massive department stores, like a tiny pink tutu amongst towering buildings, but with my trusty friend Jane by my side, I'm never out of my depth! She's a seasoned London shopper, always leading the way through the labyrinthine aisles of Liberty and Selfridges.

Today's haul included the most beautiful silk scarf in shades of lilac and pink, perfect for my next ballet class, and a delicate pair of pearl earrings that make me feel utterly regal! I’m feeling fabulous already!

Fashion Favourites!

Of course, I couldn’t go to London without seeing some incredible fashion. I am absolutely obsessed with fashion - it’s just such a fantastic way to express yourself and, frankly, to make yourself feel wonderful. And this weekend is Fashion Week, so I have plans to catch some of the shows. Oh, to see the latest collections and those stunning runway models - it’s a dream come true for a pink tutu aficionado!

The Ballet Street Show

And of course, no trip to London is complete without a ballet street show. I had a giggle watching some amateur dancers give their all at Covent Garden. Honestly, it makes my heart melt to see people showing their love for ballet. It really shows the universal power of the art form.

Sharing The Pink Tutu Love

Honestly, I have such a lovely time watching Londoners enjoying a street show, dressed in such interesting styles, from casual cool to elaborate elegance. They inspire me, but it's hard to resist showing off my own fashionista spirit, even amidst the fashion hub. It wouldn’t be a proper pink tutu-themed trip without me bringing a little pink joy to the streets of London!

I took a few photos - well, lots of photos, I do love a selfie opportunity, of course! I posted them all on my blog (link below!). Now, who's up for trying on a tutu for our next ballet-themed adventure?

London Food & Fun!

Of course, it wasn’t all ballet and fashion. London has an abundance of treats to satisfy any foodie's desires! From decadent afternoon teas in elegant tea rooms to the most delicious artisan doughnuts on the streets of Borough Market, my taste buds were thoroughly spoiled!

We also spent the afternoon in Regent’s Park, soaking up the sunshine in our comfy outfits and munching on picnic food. London has a perfect mix of urban delights and charming parks. I’ve already started planning my next London trip. Maybe we can meet in Covent Garden for a performance? We could take a ride on the London Eye and maybe even take a punting trip!

Sharing the Love, Always

And to close off, I just want to say how amazing London feels! It’s a place where anyone can shine, be it with fashion, dance, or simply a love for life. It's so vibrant, full of energy, and with all these things going on, I can’t wait for another week to pass, so I can return for another dose of London’s charm and magic.
