Pink Tutu Blog London: Friday 2007-09-28 - Whirlwind in the Big Smoke!

Hello lovelies! It’s Emma here, back with you on this sunny Friday from the heart of London town. It's post number 578, can you believe it?! This week's adventures have been whirlwind of ballet, fashion, and, of course, plenty of pink tutus! I’ve got to confess, I'm feeling a bit exhausted after all the exciting activities I’ve crammed into the past few days, but I’m brimming with London love.

My trusty steed, the train, carried me from my Derbyshire home down to the city on Wednesday. You know I can't resist a window seat, watching the world go by, the changing countryside scenery turning into the towering cityscape of London – just so magical! My bag is brimming with everything a girl could need, from my pink tutu for emergencies, of course, to a pair of glitzy ballet shoes that were just begging for an outing on London streets!

Thursday: The Rhythm of London

Thursday began with a glorious burst of energy! I landed in my favourite central London dance studio, the place I find my happy place among fellow twirlers. Let me tell you, I was completely in my element - all that stretch, sweat, and pirouettes, oh the joy! My tutu was tucked in my bag for a little rest this time. We were learning some gorgeous new choreography for the upcoming Christmas charity show - I’m definitely channeling snowflakes and festive joy in my mind's eye.

Afterward, the evening unfolded into a true Londoner's dream: I found myself sitting amongst the chattering crowds at a theatre, the curtain rising to the intoxicating sound of violins, watching a performance that I had dreamed of seeing for years: 'The Phantom of the Opera'! You know that spine-tingling moment, that quiet magic of anticipation? Well, I almost forgot to breathe, mesmerised by the singing and those exquisite costumes, and you won’t believe it - they even had a pink dress! It was enough to inspire a little tutu-wearing fan-dance at home, I'm not going to lie!

Friday: London Lights and Fashion Delights

Now, Friday's the day to celebrate all that is London! My favourite day to explore, discover, and let loose with the fabulous energy of this amazing city!

So what was on my agenda for this fine Friday? A walk through some of my favourite haunts in the heart of the city. Starting off, of course, was the usual treat: a coffee and croissant at the charming Parisian café on my street. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee and pastries is the perfect morning pick-me-up. Then I took a leisurely stroll along the Thames Embankment, gazing out at Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament. I stopped at my favourite bookstore to hunt down some interesting reads about the history of fashion – my current obsession! And of course, no visit to London is complete without a dose of window shopping! I just had to pop in to see what treasures were waiting for me in Liberty and Harvey Nichols.

In the afternoon, a much needed treat - a trip to The Ritz for high tea. I mean, I could not miss out on a touch of elegance in a venue with so much history. The delicate finger sandwiches and sweet pastries alongside the traditional afternoon tea just tickled my tastebuds! I even had a pink macaron - pure indulgence! It truly felt like stepping into a fairytale!

Of course, my adventures wouldn’t be complete without a bit of ballet! So in the evening, I took myself to the London Coliseum. The anticipation was tangible - the buzz in the air of fellow dance lovers was contagious! The evening's performance of Swan Lake was absolutely magical! The music, the movement, the pure expression - all a whirlwind of captivating beauty. It made me want to spin and pirouette in the aisle with the graceful swans!

The weekend has barely started, and I'm already picturing the fun times ahead.

Fashion Talk

London always gets me thinking about fashion. It’s just bursting at the seams with trends and styles. Today’s fashion fix is a delicate mix of vintage-inspired loveliness and bold pops of colour. Think bold shades of pink, a little bit of frill, a sprinkle of lace and oh, of course, the magic of the pink tutu. I’m just dreaming of pairing a billowing blush pink maxi dress with a delicate, whimsical headband and my trusty pink tutu for a touch of whimsical glamour! Imagine me flitting through the city streets with such a delightful look – truly an eye-catching display of girly charm! After all, London’s about expressing yourself and looking and feeling fabulous!

Pink Tutu Musings

Here are a few thoughts, just from my pink-tutu-loving brain.

London Fun Fact

Did you know that there are over 150 languages spoken in London? Imagine all the stories waiting to be told and the cultures waiting to be explored! That’s just one of the reasons London is so exhilarating.

Sharing the Pink Tutu Love

This weekend I’m heading to Covent Garden, hoping to spread a little pink tutu joy and inspire a few people to join me in my mission to make the world a little brighter and more fun. If you spot me in the pink tutu, come say hi. I’m all about sharing a little smile and making the world a prettier place.

Have a wonderfully stylish week!

Until next Friday, Emma xxx
