Oh my darlings, London beckons! The scent of crisp autumn air mingled with the tantalising aroma of freshly baked pastries is intoxicating, even before I step off the train. You know I just can't resist a trip to the Big Smoke! My lifeās a whirlwind of travelling, tutus and, of course, ballet.
And, what better way to fund my adventures than to grace the stage with a performance or two? This week, I swished and twirled at the Derby Playhouse, bringing the classic tale of āThe Nutcrackerā to life. You know how much I love those Sugar Plum Fairies! And now, with pockets full of well-earned shillings (don't tell my mother I said that!) I'm ready to explore the dazzling streets of London.
I'm all about those vintage train journeys! There's something magical about gliding through the countryside, watching the world flash by. And you simply can't beat that "I'm arriving in London" feeling. A little thrill rushes through you, the moment you see the familiar silhouettes of St. Pancras International emerge from the mist. This is where I truly feel alive!
Today, my fellow tutu-wearers, it's a day for experiencing London's rich tapestry of culture and fashion. As I hop off the train, a mischievous grin creeps across my face. I can't wait to explore, find hidden gems, and maybe even steal some inspiration for my next tutu ensemble! (Stay tuned for a sneak peek later!)
Speaking of inspiration, it wouldnāt be a true London adventure without a quick jaunt through some of the city's iconic landmarks. Today's plan is packed with iconic sights - from the imposing grandeur of Buckingham Palace to the timeless allure of Trafalgar Square. I can't forget the allure of a stroll down Oxford Street, where fashion whispers in every window! But before we indulge in a shopping spree, it's time for a spot of theatrical brilliance!
Afternoon Delights: "Phantom of the Opera"
I'm in a total "Phantom" frenzy this weekend, my lovelies! Iām making a pilgrimage to the grand Her Majestyās Theatre to see Andrew Lloyd Webberās legendary masterpiece. For those who haven't seen it - this operatic spectacle is a whirlwind of dramatic beauty, musical triumph, and enough pink, well, to almost compete with my tutus!
This performance is the reason for this trip, a chance to experience this phenomenal show live. Iām counting down the hours until the opening chords fill the theatre with a shiver of anticipation. The energy in those theatre spaces always charges my spirit, I can already feel myself swept away.
Evening: Pink Paradise Shopping and the Magic of Ballet
You're probably wondering where this fabulous Pink Tutu aficionado finds the time to indulge in her favourite pastime, arenāt you? Shopping, my dear, is an art form, a lifestyle! So, after a hearty supper in Covent Garden (no London visit is complete without a dose of theatre district ambiance), we'll hit the shops! Oxford Street beckons! And donāt think for a second Iām leaving without that gorgeous sequined jacket I saw in the window - I know it will go perfectly with my upcoming ballet performances, and you know I'm always on the lookout for the perfect piece to enhance my tutu!
To top off a fabulous day in London, weāll end it at the magnificent Sadler's Wells theatre, a gem tucked away in the heart of Islington. This iconic venue has hosted countless performances from renowned ballet companies all around the world!
Iāll be watching the final performance of the Royal Ballet's latest contemporary ballet masterpiece. I can't tell you much about the performance - itās all under wraps - but I do know that the costumes are sensational and there's talk of a magical use of colour. Letās just say it's going to be a performance worthy of ending a day packed with colour and creativity! Oh, and youāve guessed it ā pink tutus are involved!
But my day, and this week's post, wouldn't be complete without a few words about the worldās greatest fashion city! This city whispers style through its shop windows, it buzzes with creativity and inspiration on every corner. Oh, the wonderful boutiques of Knightsbridge! Oh, the delectable designer fashion!
