Pink Tutu Blog London: Post #582 - Friday 2007-10-26: London Calling!
Hello my lovely tutu-loving darlings! It's your favourite pink-clad ballerina, Emma, back from a whirlwind trip to London! And oh my, what a glorious weekend it was!
This week's Pink Tutu Blog London is a bit different. Normally I'd be reviewing a new ballet or gushing over the latest vintage find, but this time, I'm diving into the heart of London, a city I simply adore!
A Train Journey and a Pink Tutu Dream
My journey started in Derbyshire, as always. The train ride was as blissful as ever, the scenery flashing by in a kaleidoscope of colours. You know me, I can't resist a pink tutu on the train โ a splash of colour, a symbol of my joyful spirit. I've always loved the romance of train travel, the quiet moments spent with my nose buried in a book, my pink tutu adding a dash of whimsy to the carriage.
Pink Paradise in London
Landing in London, the city embraced me with open arms (and maybe a hint of a pink tutu smile!). My weekend was dedicated to exploring the city's hidden gems, indulging in some retail therapy, and of course, seeing a fantastic ballet performance. It was a truly delightful experience, made even better by my favourite companion โ my trusty pink tutu!
A Ballet Debut at Sadler's Wells
As always, my trip wouldn't be complete without a trip to the theatre. Friday night, I was absolutely captivated by the mesmerising performance at Sadler's Wells. I just can't tell you how magical it was, to feel the thrill of the dancers, the sweeping music, the drama of the costumes! The graceful movements, the breathtaking athleticism, the pure artistry! This was what it was all about! My heart skipped a beat as the ballerina leapt across the stage, her shimmering pink tutu swirling like a magical cloud. Oh, how I wished I could twirl like that!
Fashion Fix at Liberty's
Saturday was all about indulging in some London fashion fun. Liberty's department store was a wonderland! The colours, the textures, the exquisite displays! It was simply overwhelming! It reminded me of stepping into a magical fairyland. The fragrance, the luxurious materials, everything felt so utterly stylish and glamorous. I spent hours exploring the different departments, dreaming of what I'd buy if only I had a bottomless purse. It was a serious case of retail envy! But I had to find the perfect little pink tutu-inspired accessory! After a long search, I emerged victorious, carrying a dainty pink beaded handbag. A truly pink-tastic purchase for my London wardrobe.
Sunday Stroll Along the Thames
On Sunday, I indulged in the ultimate London experience - a leisurely stroll along the Thames. The air was crisp, the sky clear, and the sun was just beginning to set. I savoured every moment, taking in the stunning views of the Houses of Parliament, the London Eye, the bustling crowds, and the vibrant colours of the cityscape. And, yes, of course, I was wearing my pink tutu. The crowds stopped to admire my pink, as I spun and twirled, filling the Thames bank with the magical energy of a pink tutu fairy! Everyone seemed to smile. Perhaps a few even considered slipping on a tutu themselves? That would make my day.
Dinner with a View at The Shard
No trip to London is complete without a breathtaking meal. Dinner at The Shard, one of the tallest buildings in London, was an incredible experience! My eyes were glued to the panoramic view as I savoured the delectable cuisine. The city lights twinkling below, the soft music, the sophisticated ambiance โ it was truly enchanting!
Pink Tutu Takeaway
This trip to London was a testament to the beauty and joy of discovering the extraordinary in the ordinary. Everywhere I looked, London offered a spectacle of culture, history, and breathtaking views. But I believe, the most wonderful thing is the sheer excitement of this city!
This week, I encourage you to step outside your comfort zone, embrace your own personal style, and discover the joy of a little pink tutu magic in your own life. Let your inner ballerina shine!
Until next time, happy dancing!
Lots of love,
Emma
