Pink Tutu Blog London: Post #610 - Friday 9th May 2008

Hello my darling readers! It's Emma here, your resident pink tutu-clad adventurer, ready to take you on another fabulous journey, this time to the captivating city of London!

I boarded the train from my little Derbyshire village bright and early, the scent of tea brewing in the cafe carriage already sending shivers of excitement down my spine. There's something about the rhythm of the tracks, the rush of the wind against the windows, and the bustling conversations that truly awaken the senses and leave me buzzing with anticipation.

Today is all about exploring the best London has to offer, and of course, embracing my favourite colour ā€“ pink!

First Stop: A Dose of London Fashion

No trip to London is complete without a little retail therapy, is it? So, first on the agenda was a visit to one of my all-time favourite department stores, Liberty. Stepping through those iconic Tudor-style doors is like entering a different world. Every corner is bursting with colour, texture, and beautiful handcrafted goods.

Of course, my eye was drawn to the pink! I found the most amazing baby pink silk scarf with a delicate floral print - perfect for adding a touch of elegance to my everyday outfit. Then I spotted a vintage pink and gold beaded clutch bag that had me swooning! I just had to have it. It was practically calling out to me from the shelves.

Lunchtime Ballet: A Slice of Pink Perfection

Feeling refreshed and ready for some culture, I decided to head over to Covent Garden for a delectable lunch at a cute little cafe, complete with fairy lights and charming little pink parasols. What could be more perfect for a ballet-loving soul than a pink iced tea on a sunny London afternoon?

And then came the highlight of my day ā€“ a magnificent ballet performance at the Royal Opera House! I managed to snag a ticket to see Swan Lake, and oh my goodness, it was utterly magical! The dancers were graceful and elegant, the costumes dazzling, and the music absolutely transported me to a different world.

Afternoon Adventures: Exploring London's History and Charm

After the performance, I wandered around the historic streets of Covent Garden, stopping to admire the flower stalls and soak in the vibrant energy. The sheer variety of colours was enough to give even a seasoned fashionista a sensory overload. There's something quite magical about strolling down these ancient streets, imagining the centuries of life that have unfolded before you.

And, what would a visit to London be without a peek at the iconic Big Ben? I caught a glimpse of its imposing grandeur as I walked over Westminster Bridge. I couldn't help but feel a sense of awe at this historic monument. The beauty of London is that it's not only full of charm and history but it also pulses with a modern, dynamic energy that I canā€™t get enough of!

Evening Indulgence: Dining with a Pink Flair

For dinner, I decided to go all out and indulge in a pink cocktail (a Strawberry Daiquiri, of course!) at a chic little bar just off Oxford Street. The music was cool, the crowd was fun, and the whole atmosphere just oozed sophistication. It was a perfect way to round off my London adventure.

Londonā€™s a Ballerina's Dream

As I make my way back to Derbyshire on the train, my mind is full of delightful memories. The day has been a whirlwind of fashion, dance, history, and of course, lots of pink!

My mission, you see, is not just to dance, but also to encourage everyone to embrace their inner ballerina, even if just for a moment, by putting on a pink tutu. Every time I see a glimpse of pink in the world, it brings a little joy to my heart!

So tell me, have you ever been to London? And what are your favourite pink things?

Until next week, my lovely readers, stay fabulous and always remember - lifeā€™s a ballet, so wear your pink tutu with confidence and pirouette into the world with a smile!

Emma x
