Pink Tutu Blog: London Calling! (Post #609) 🩰💖

Hello my lovely tutu-wearing darlings! It's Emma here, and I'm positively bursting with excitement to share all the fabulousness I experienced in London this past Friday! As you all know, this city is my absolute favourite place to twirl, so let's dive right in.

The Train Journey: A Dream in Pink

The journey from my little corner of Derbyshire to the heart of London is always a delight. The train is my haven, allowing me to escape into a world of fashion magazines, ballet music, and pink daydreams. This time, my trusty pink tutu travelled with me, adding a touch of whimsy to the grey train carriage.

Arriving in London: A City of Lights & Ballet Dreams

Stepping out of King's Cross station, I was immediately swept up in the vibrant energy of the city. The scent of freshly baked pastries, the gentle clinking of buskers' guitars, the sound of excited chatter… London always knows how to welcome you with open arms, or rather, open doorways to its myriad delights.

My first order of business was a visit to the Royal Opera House - a true mecca for any ballerina enthusiast! The iconic building, with its grandeur and history, never fails to send a shiver of excitement down my spine. Unfortunately, I was unable to see a ballet performance that day, but that's okay, I made a mental note to pencil one in for next week! I do have an insatiable hunger for ballet, you see.

Shopping Spree: From Harrods to Liberty

A trip to London simply isn't complete without some retail therapy. So, with a twinkle in my eye and my pink tutu safely tucked in my bag, I ventured into the luxurious world of Harrods. You can't go wrong in the fashion department at Harrods. A riot of colours, textures, and dazzling designs; a perfect storm of sartorial brilliance! And don't even get me started on the incredible shoes... oh, the shoes!

But Harrods isn't the only shopping haven in this enchanting city. I took a leisurely stroll through the cobbled streets, admiring the charming boutiques and quaint vintage shops. One such gem, Liberty, stole my heart with its bohemian-inspired designs and vibrant prints.

Theatrical Delights: A Night of Broadway in London

In the evening, I indulged in a Broadway production at the magnificent London Palladium - I can't divulge the details, but it involved singing, dancing, and a generous helping of glitter! I am all for a little theatrics! My friend Claire and I were in a box with a view of the whole stage, and we practically bounced with excitement throughout the entire show! I found it inspiring seeing the level of talent and artistry that is still alive and well in theatre, truly amazing!

A Parisian Interlude

Oh, and I simply cannot forget the glorious pastries and macarons at Ladurée! It was just the sweetest stop-off to add a little Parisian flair to my London adventure. There is just something so divine about these dainty delicacies!

Back in Derbyshire: Pink Tutu Dreams

The train journey back home was as lovely as the journey out. With the thrill of the London experience still swirling through my mind, I dreamt of dancing and tutus and sparkly shoes… maybe even a new London adventure in the future. After all, a ballerina’s work is never truly done!

Until next Friday, darlings! Keep twirling, keep sparkling, and never forget that pink tutus make everything more beautiful. 💕🩰

Things I saw on this date:

  • A fascinating exhibit about the history of the London Underground, I hadn't realized it had been around so long!
  • A delightful street performance by some tap-dancing youngsters in Covent Garden! I love seeing those young budding performers, full of energy and such amazing skills.
  • A quirky sculpture outside the National Gallery, it looked a lot like a giant, abstract pink flamingo, which made me giggle and feel a little closer to home.
  • A group of pink-clad ladies, who weren’t exactly sporting tutus, but they were heading into a vintage fashion show at the Barbican Centre - it was all very “Mad Men” inspired!

*The End of Blog Post Number 609. 💕💖🩰 *
