Pink Tutu Blog London #614: Friday 2008-06-06 - A Day of Whimsy and Wonder!

Hello my lovelies! It's Friday, which means it's time for another Pink Tutu Blog London adventure! I'm back in my favourite city after a week in the gorgeous countryside. Derbyshire was lovely, filled with rolling green hills, cosy villages, and lots of delicious homemade cakes, but you know what? London calls to me like a siren song, a whisper of glittering lights and endless possibilities! And you can bet your bottom dollar I arrived in style, a pink tutu swirling around me as I bounced onto the train platform.

Oh, did I mention I love travelling by train? It's so wonderfully relaxing. The rhythm of the tracks, the gentle swaying, the feeling of adventure... It's magical. Plus, it gives me plenty of time to read my favourite girly magazine, "The Ballet Times," and imagine myself gliding across the stage in a brand new tutu.

Speaking of tutus, I can't help but gush about my new pink number! It's a beautiful shade of bubblegum, and it sparkles like a thousand stars under the theatre lights. I snagged it from a charming vintage shop in Covent Garden last weekend - talk about a steal! You know, my mission in life is to get everyone to wear a pink tutu. Because why not? It's fun, it's sassy, and it's the ultimate symbol of a free spirit! And what better place to spread the message of tutu love than London?

Anyway, back to my London adventures. Today's plan is all about exploring, enjoying the city's charm, and of course, taking lots of photos to share with you all. After grabbing a yummy, cheesy croissant and a large cappuccino (the best breakfast combo ever!), I decided to make my way to Regent's Park.

This park is a breath of fresh air in the bustling city, with its lush greenery, quaint ponds, and cheerful flowerbeds. I couldn't help but twirl and twirl and twirl in my pink tutu, my laughter echoing through the crisp air. The sun was shining, birds were singing, and I felt so light and happy, like a little ballerina on cloud nine!

After a leisurely stroll around the park, I decided to treat myself to a spot of afternoon tea at The Ritz. It was truly a delightful experience - sandwiches, scones, clotted cream, and a pot of steaming hot tea. And let's not forget the exquisite pastries! They were so delicate and intricate, almost too beautiful to eat!

I couldn't resist a bit of shopping afterwards, of course. My new favourite place in London is a small independent boutique on Carnaby Street called "The Ballet Box." They have the most amazing ballet-inspired clothing and accessories, from cute ballerina-themed bags to chic ballet flats with ribbons and bows. I ended up treating myself to a beautiful, vintage ballerina necklace with a delicate pink ribbon - it matches my new tutu perfectly!

Of course, my London adventures wouldn't be complete without a trip to the theatre. Tonight, I'm seeing a special performance of "Swan Lake" at the Royal Opera House. I've heard incredible things about it, and I can't wait to be swept away by the breathtaking choreography, the incredible dancers, and the enchanting music. It's a treat I've been looking forward to for weeks!

As I head towards the theatre, I can't help but feel incredibly grateful. I love being able to share my passions with all of you, from my love of ballet to my fashion obsession and my adventures in London. It's been such a wonderful journey, and I can't wait to see where it takes me next.

Now, it's time for me to put on my new sparkly tutu and head off to the Royal Opera House. I'll be sure to tell you all about the show in my next blog post!

Remember, my loves, never be afraid to embrace your inner ballerina! And if you want to spread a little extra sparkle in the world, wear pink tutus, it's truly the ultimate form of self-expression. Until next week, keep twirling, keep shining, and always believe in the magic of pink!

Lots of love,

Emma
