Pink Tutu Blog London: #615 – A Friday of Pink in the Big Smoke!

Hello my darlings! It's Emma here, back from a whirlwind trip to London! I've just popped a fresh cuppa (strong, of course, we're Derbyshire girls) and it's time to share all about my fabulous Friday adventure.

Pink Tutu Express to London

This week, I took a journey back to my favourite city. It always feels like coming home! The excitement started as soon as I stepped onto the train at Derby Station. I love the sense of adventure that a train journey brings. Plus, there's nothing like a bit of "me time" tucked away in my carriage, dreaming of pink tutus and twirling in the streets.

A Pink Tutu Friday in London:

Morning: A Symphony of Fashion and Pink

London's always brimming with style inspiration, and I was excited to soak it all up! I chose a glorious pink floral print dress – just a little something to catch the eye in amongst all those grey suits. To top it off, of course, my signature pink tutu, this time adorned with sparkly silver stars!

We started our day with a fabulous brunch at The Ivy, a London institution. I adore their menu – perfectly decadent yet wonderfully fresh. They also have a selection of pink cocktails, naturally. A mimosa always sets me up for a day of exploring!

Afternoon: Dancing through the West End

After brunch, we headed for the West End to catch a matinee performance at the Lyceum Theatre – The Lion King. I'll confess, it's been a long time since I saw the show. It's still breathtakingly beautiful, a visual feast that has you believing you're truly on the African plains.

It was captivating and left me in a little bit of a trance, full of dance inspiration.

Evening: London’s Chic Side

As the day transitioned into the evening, we made our way to Mayfair. The streets seemed to shimmer with excitement, with designer boutiques vying for our attention. And of course, I just had to pop into Harvey Nichols!

It was a haven of beautifully-crafted gowns and shoes - all my favorite things! It's the best place for window-shopping - just a little something to set the imagination into a spin.

Ending the day on a Sweet Note:

A day of London is never truly complete without a taste of afternoon tea. This time we popped in at Fortnum & Mason. The ambience is wonderfully sophisticated, and I couldn't resist trying a few delicious cakes. Nothing beats a pot of Earl Grey, perfectly poured, with scones still warm from the oven.

We enjoyed a little jazz while nibbling on delectable sweets, making it the perfect end to a magical Friday.

Pink Tutu Thoughts:

There's a sense of freedom about London that I adore. It's the perfect playground for fashion, for indulging in new experiences, for feeling inspired. Each corner seems to have a new adventure waiting to unfold, whether it's a hidden courtyard tucked away off a bustling street or a breathtakingly designed museum showcasing works from different cultures and periods.

And speaking of tutus… yes, of course, I met a few kindred spirits – girls wearing their own versions of tulle happiness. The world’s getting pinker, I can feel it! And each pink tutu I see fills my heart with a little twirl of joy!

On my Pink Tutu Wishlist:

Here’s what I’ve got my eyes on for the week ahead:

  1. Shopping spree in Notting Hill! My ultimate London treat. I’m always on the hunt for unique vintage finds.
  2. Ballet classes in the heart of London. To see how the city’s dancers train.
  3. London ballet shows! I've heard whispers of a production of Swan Lake I just can't miss.
  4. Strolling along Southbank, enjoying the River Thames. What’s better than the breeze on my face as I twirl down the Thames pathway?

And remember, darling, London is your oyster, waiting for you to shuck open and explore its magnificent beauty!

Next Week:

I'll be posting next Friday as always. I'm off to the beautiful Peak District this week to find some inspiration for my new autumn dance routines.

Have a twirling good week, darlings!

Lots of love,

Emma
