Pink Tutu Blog London: Post #618 โ€“ Friday 2008-07-04 โ€“ A London Daydream in Pink!

Hello my gorgeous tutu-loving darlings! It's Emma here, and this week, I'm bringing you all the sparkly joy of a day trip to London. From Derbyshire to the Big Smoke, all aboard the train, it's a pink tutu adventure!

Every week, my darling blog is dedicated to celebrating the sheer beauty of pink, tutus, ballet and everything lovely. My mission is to bring some girly glitz and graceful elegance into your world. And what better way to spread the pink-tutu gospel than in a city overflowing with culture and fashion like London?

A Train Trip to London Town

Oh, the joy of a train ride! Nothing quite beats gazing out of the window, feeling the gentle sway of the carriage, and soaking in the ever-changing landscape as you whizz towards your destination. Today, my eyes are glued to the rolling green hills of Derbyshire, slowly transforming into the concrete jungle that is London.

There's something truly magical about train travel. It's a slower, more contemplative pace than a plane journey. You can stretch your legs, grab a coffee from the trolley, and simply relax, savouring the journey as much as the destination. And as usual, my travel outfit has a touch of pink tutu magic: a floaty, blush-pink dress, topped with my signature sparkly pink tutu, just a touch longer than usual, to twirl like a fairy as the train rumbles on.

My London Ballet Ballet Itinerary

I love my life. Performing at various theatres across the UK keeps my pockets brimming (with a bit of careful planning) and fuels my travel fund! Today's performance in Derbyshire has allowed me to whisk myself away to London, where the day is all about ballet!

Here's a little peek at my packed itinerary:

Morning:

  • Shopping: Harrods for a quick peek at the latest designer offerings (hopefully a new tutu in my size!). You just can't resist a spot of "shopping therapy" in Harrods, with their fabulous window displays, beautifully presented boutiques and that wonderful heady atmosphere. They even have a fantastic, brightly lit and airy, dedicated shoe department! Heaven on Earth, even if the prices can be a little on the "I just can't afford this" side!

Afternoon:

  • Show Time: I'm attending a stunning matinee performance of โ€œSwan Lakeโ€ at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden. There's a touch of magic in this building, a history of ballet greatness that shimmers through the gilded decorations. The graceful choreography, the elegance of the dancers, and the soaring music are a true treat for my heart and soul.

Evening:

  • Ballet Class: A spot of graceful movement with an open ballet class in London. I can't resist a quick class when I'm in town. It's a beautiful blend of disciplined exercise and creative expression. I always leave feeling so energised and ready to take on the world. (and of course Iโ€™m wearing a new blush pink leotard that is, of course, tutu-perfect).

A Dash of London Magic

Besides the ballet magic, London offers so much to experience, a whirl of culture and history that never seems to tire. Today's to-do list includes:

  • London Eye: A quick ride on the London Eye is a must, a beautiful way to soak up the sprawling views of the city, taking in iconic landmarks like Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament, St. Paul's Cathedral and Buckingham Palace. There's an undeniably "wow" factor to this.
  • Southbank: A wander down the Southbank, a colourful mix of vibrant street performers, funky art installations, and delicious smells from street food vendors. It's a true melting pot of London's soul. It also has a view of The London Eye! If it's a bright sunny day, what more could you want?
  • Royal Festival Hall: Possibly a late afternoon concert by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra? There is a real opportunity for spontaneous culture in London and it's a thrill!

The Pink Tutu Dream

Everywhere I go, the pink tutu gets noticed. The colour pops. The frills and swirls command attention. People stop me in the street, smiling and complimenting my fabulousness. And you know what? It makes me so happy!

I dream of a world where every girl, every woman, feels empowered and confident enough to wear a pink tutu with pride. It's a symbol of playfulness, femininity, and self-expression, and it's time we embraced that spirit in all its glorious glory!

And finally... A Peek at Friday's Magic

Friday's are extra special here on the pink-tutu.com blog. The weekend's just around the corner, full of exciting possibilities! So if you're searching for inspiration, a bit of London magic, and a sprinkle of pink tutu bliss, hop aboard my digital train! You never know what fun we might find in the next journey!

So until next Friday, remember, there's always room for a bit more pink tutu in your life! Don't be afraid to embrace your inner fairy, to twirl with abandon and sprinkle a little glitter wherever you go.

Stay pink!

Love,

Emma xxx
