#PinkTutuBlogLondon Friday 2008-10-31 - London Calling! 🩰

Hello darlings! 💋 It’s Emma here, and you're looking at post number 635 on your favourite tutu-tastic website, www.pink-tutu.com! This week I'm channeling my inner Londoner, bringing you all the pink-tastic fun from my weekend adventures in the big smoke.

For you lovely lot who don't know, I'm your friendly neighbourhood tutu-wearing ballerina from Derbyshire, with a penchant for all things pink and a passion for dance that takes me far and wide! Today I'm sharing my London experience - a whirlwind of ballet, theatre, and all the delightful shopping this wonderful city has to offer.

This week's London escapades were made possible by a glorious performance at The Derby Theatre – "Sleeping Beauty", you know I simply had to waltz my way over to the capital! 💃✨ I can't think of a better way to fund my tutu-tastic adventures than through doing what I love. 😉

Now, who doesn’t love a good train journey? The journey down was absolute bliss. The rhythmic clinking of the tracks and the beautiful autumnal colours flashing past my window… pure magic! 🍁 Not to mention the charming gentleman sat opposite me who gave me the most genuine smile when he saw my sparkly tutu! 🤩

*Arriving in London, oh the joy! *

Walking through London is like a magical ballet itself. The sights, the sounds, the sheer vibrancy - it’s exhilarating! I think it’s contagious, this London buzz. As I wandered through the city streets, my heart filled with joy, my toes practically tapped themselves into a rhythm, my eyes darted excitedly from shop window to shop window. The shops! They're positively bursting with treasures! I saw the most stunning new arrivals in the Selfridges window and some ridiculously beautiful shoes at the Jimmy Choo store in Sloane Square – sigh! 💖

Ballet Brilliance at the Royal Opera House

Tonight was the night for a ballet spectacular! I headed to the iconic Royal Opera House for a breathtaking performance of "Swan Lake". The dancing was divine, the costumes were stunning and the orchestra’s music was nothing short of enchanting. I even caught a glimpse of the Queen – the theatre was bursting with royal elegance and charm! 👑 I was transported to another world – a world of ethereal grace and captivating storytelling – all thanks to the magic of ballet.

Shopping till I Drop!

Speaking of magic, let’s talk about shopping! London truly is a haven for a shopaholic like myself. There are shops for every mood, every occasion and of course, every colour! I must admit I fell head-over-heels for the cutest pink floral dress at Liberty’s on Regent Street. I’ve decided to get it for myself, it's positively screaming "Emma" with its feminine charm and whimsical print.

Of course, I couldn’t leave without a peek at the new ballerina-inspired collection at Anya Hindmarch. Their handbags are the most unique, and I simply adore their playful designs. Who needs a fairytale when you can carry a handbag with your own miniature tutu! 💖✨

Evening Extravaganza - A Trip to the Theatre

After a delectable afternoon tea (with enough pastries to satisfy a princess), I treated myself to a West End performance. Tonight’s treat – the enchanting "Matilda"! I absolutely adored this production! I couldn’t help but tear up during some scenes. The talent on stage was astounding and the whimsical set design really brought the story to life. I'm such a sucker for a story with a positive message. It left me feeling full of hope and inspiration – exactly the way a theatre performance should.

London's Culinary Delights

To top off my fabulous day, I dined in style at a lovely Italian restaurant in Covent Garden. The pasta was absolutely divine, and the wine – oh, the wine! 🍷 But the best part? A delicious and pink tiramisu for dessert! This has to be my favourite dessert of all time! 🍓 It was the perfect ending to a simply perfect day!

A Farewell to London – Until Next Time

I'll admit it’s a bittersweet feeling leaving London. The energy here is so electric. It truly is a magical city that ignites creativity, inspires joy, and makes me feel oh so incredibly happy!

But fret not, dear readers! My pink tutu will return to this vibrant city many times over. I already can't wait for my next London escapade, my next tutu-tastic adventure!

*Until next week, stay pink and fabulous! 💋💖 *

A Little Note on Travel: For those who might be considering their own London trip, the train is a brilliant way to see the English countryside on your way to the big smoke! The British railways provide such a romantic and efficient mode of travel. I also can’t rave enough about London’s Tube system. It’s the most charming and effective way to navigate this busy metropolis! 🚇 You’ll be zipping across the city like a graceful ballerina in no time! Oh, and don't forget to pick up a traditional red telephone box for your selfie! ☎️ I've heard those vintage beauties pop up in some unexpected spots!

Now, go get your pink tutu on! This Londoner wishes you a wonderful week full of dreams, dancing, and of course, all the pink you can handle! ✨

XOXO, Emma 💕
