Pink Tutu Blog: London Adventures! (Post #634)

Hello my dearest Pink Tutu fans!

It's Friday, and you know what that means - it's time for another Pink Tutu Blog post! I'm writing this from the heart of London, a city that never sleeps, just like my tutu-loving heart!

This week, I travelled by train from Derbyshire, which always feels like a journey back in time, but in a good way! It’s so relaxing, watching the countryside drift by, thinking about all the wonderful experiences I'm about to have in the big city. I have to confess, a train journey is never complete without a stop in the buffet carriage for a delicious hot chocolate and a slice of Victoria sponge – pure British delight!

Friday Fashion in London

I was on a mission to explore London in style today, of course, and what could be more appropriate than a bright pink tutu with a cute cardigan and knee-high boots? I feel like a ballerina on a whirlwind adventure! It’s all about embracing colour and expressing yourself, and there’s no better place to do that than in London.

Speaking of fashion, did you know that tomorrow is London Fashion Week? I'm so excited about all the gorgeous runway looks, new trends, and a chance to witness the incredible creativity of London's fashion scene. Fingers crossed I might even catch a glimpse of the legendary Vivienne Westwood in her signature wild outfits!

A Ballet-Filled Afternoon

I simply couldn’t resist starting my day with a visit to Sadler’s Wells, one of my favourite dance venues. The magnificent, red-brick building is an architectural beauty and always brimming with the buzz of dancers and theatregoers. I even managed to snag a last-minute ticket for a ballet matinee – how lucky am I?

The performance was simply magical, showcasing a combination of classical and contemporary choreography. Every graceful leap and expressive gesture sent shivers down my spine, and I just knew I was destined for a life on stage, twirling in my tutu!

Exploring the Hidden Corners of London

After my ballet-fuelled afternoon, I set off to explore London's vibrant streets. I love getting lost in the winding back alleys, discovering independent boutiques bursting with unique finds. I scored a gorgeous vintage teacup and saucer at a delightful antique shop on Portobello Road. It's going straight to my collection!

Later, I indulged in a traditional fish and chips dinner by the River Thames. It’s a London must-do, right? The crisp fish and fluffy chips were absolutely heavenly, and I felt incredibly grateful to be living this amazing dream of mine – dancing, shopping, and soaking up London's unique charm!

A Magical Theatre Night

Tonight, I'm headed to see a play at the Globe Theatre - it's a true treat for a theatre-loving ballerina like myself. The theatre is so authentically recreated, bringing Shakespeare's world to life. I can’t wait to lose myself in the captivating drama and catch a glimpse of the stars through the thatched roof.

My London Tips:

As you know, I'm a firm believer in sharing my favourite finds, so here are some London tips to make your trip as magical as possible:

  • Ride the red double-decker buses: Nothing says London more than a scenic bus journey through iconic landmarks!
  • Explore hidden courtyards and alleyways: Discover secret gardens and unique art galleries in unexpected corners of the city.
  • Pick up a bargain at a vintage market: Hunt for unique finds at places like Brick Lane Market or Camden Market.
  • Indulge in afternoon tea: There's no better way to enjoy the classic British experience!

A Pink Tutu Wish

Before I go, I just have one little wish: I want to inspire all of you to wear your own pink tutu, be it at a ballet class, on a shopping trip, or even just around the house! We all need a little bit of pink and twirling magic in our lives.

Until next Friday, stay twirling!

Love,

Emma
