Pink Tutu Blog London: #658 - London Calling! (Friday, 10th April, 2009)

Hello lovelies! Emma here, fresh off the train from Derbyshire and ready to paint London pink! I'm so excited to be back in this magical city, a city bursting with energy and style. You know I love my pink tutus and all things pretty, and London always inspires my inner ballerina.

Itā€™s Friday, and Iā€™ve just arrived after a whirlwind train journey, which of course, was pure glamour. My pink tutu, a pale shade of blush this time, swished and swayed alongside the rhythm of the rails. It's amazing how just a little bit of pink can brighten up even the dullest train carriage. The other passengers just looked on with a mix of amusement and admiration - just a little sprinkle of the magic of pink, you see.

My itinerary this weekend is crammed full of London delights:

  • A little shopping spree! My first stop is Oxford Street, naturally, to check out the latest collections. Itā€™s a haven for stylish fashionistas like myself. Iā€™ve got my eye on a gorgeous pink feather boa and a pair of divine high heels - a pink suede number, just perfect for a ballet inspired look.

  • Royal Ballet at the Coliseum! A ballet show is essential, and luckily the Royal Ballet is showcasing Swan Lake this weekend. This classic is one I just have to see, and Iā€™m dreaming of wearing my sparkly pink tutu to match the elegance and grace of the dancers. Thereā€™s something utterly magical about ballet - it's just a beautiful blend of art, movement and emotion, all woven together in a breathtaking spectacle.

  • Dinner at a delightful French Bistro: London is a global hub of flavours, and tonight Iā€™m planning to treat myself to delicious French food. Imagine ā€“ crusty bread, decadent chocolate mousse, and the finest French wine, all paired with a soft glow from the city lights.

  • A performance in the West End! You know I'm a sucker for a great show, and this weekend Iā€™m going to experience the vibrant energy of a West End musical! The buzz of theatre is electric - it's all about creativity, entertainment and sheer passion, all brought together under the stage lights.

A Ballet Blogger's Diary

As a professional ballet dancer and your very own pink tutu blogger, my mission is simple - spread the love of ballet, share my passion for the art, and bring a little sparkle and a lot of pink into your world! And to achieve this, my life is filled with rehearsals, shows and the pure magic of performance.

And if the truth be told, it's my passion for ballet that fund my travel and adventures - all thanks to my weekly performance schedule. Each and every pirouette and arabesque allows me to follow my love of travel and fashion.

Why Pink Tutues?

Pink is a colour full of joy and positivity. It radiates energy, confidence and a certain light-heartedness. And what better symbol of this joy than the ethereal and elegant pink tutu? It embodies elegance, grace and a hint of rebellion.

My hope is that you all embrace a little bit of the pink tutu spirit ā€“ you never know, it might just lead to your own fantastic adventure!

My London Top Tips

  1. Embrace the Underground. London's tube is fast and efficient. Even with a little tutu to negotiate, it makes exploring this incredible city a breeze.

  2. Always wear comfortable shoes - I can't stress this enough! Walking all day through London, especially in your pink tutus, requires a comfy pair of footwear, and a comfy pair that looks fab!

  3. Don't be afraid to wander off the beaten path! Hidden gems are all around.

  4. Visit the V&A museum for inspiration and fashion delights. Thereā€™s no place better for a touch of history and beauty in this extraordinary city.

What Iā€™m Reading, Wearing & Listening To:

  1. Reading: ā€œThe Shoemakerā€™s Wifeā€ by Adriana Trigiani I'm absolutely hooked by this story! Itā€™s charming and full of heartwarming Italian charm.
  2. Wearing: My trusty ballet flat shoes are always on rotation for exploring, but today, it's a chic black mini skirt and a white, lace blouse. Topped, of course, by a dash of pink tulle in a small scarf.
  3. Listening to: " The Music of the Night" by Andrew Lloyd Webber Such a timeless piece. I can't resist putting it on before any performance.

    Stay Pink and Lovely!

I can't wait to share more of my adventures in London with you next Friday. Until then, embrace your inner ballerina and spread a little pink magic wherever you go.
