Pink Tutu Blog London - #700: Friday, January 29th - A Tutu-ful Day in the Capital!

Hello, my lovely tutu-loving darlings! It's Emma, back from a whirlwind weekend in the glittering capital! You guys know how much I adore London - the buzz, the shops, the theatres… and of course, the amazing ballet performances! This trip was particularly exciting as I'm performing with a wonderful company this Saturday, a fundraiser for a local charity. Talk about tutus for a good cause! 🩰💖

But before the show, I squeezed in a Friday full of fun and frolics. The train journey was so calming, it was just what I needed to unwind from my rehearsals. You know, there’s something so magical about being transported to a new city, all comfy and warm in my signature pink tutu (this time paired with a chic cream cashmere cardigan and sparkly pink heels - perfect for a London outing, wouldn't you agree?).

First Stop: Fashion Frolics in Notting Hill

First on the agenda, a spot of retail therapy in Notting Hill. The Notting Hill area, with its quaint boutiques, independent cafes and gorgeous floral displays, is such a treat for the senses. I found the most divine pink velvet blazer at a vintage shop. I just had to get it! The shop assistant even commented on my tutu – it seems I'm slowly converting the city one tutu-wearer at a time.

Lunchtime with a View

After my shopping spree, I grabbed a light lunch at a cute little cafe near Portobello Road Market. My usual ballet training fuelled me with enough energy to resist the delicious cakes, but I did sneak a raspberry macaron with a pink buttercream filling - gotta indulge every now and then!

Later, after a cheeky stroll through the market, I spotted a vintage typewriter. How lovely it would look on my desk at home! Just imagine, all those beautiful pastel letters from my readers and my personal musings! Alas, I had to resist temptation, and it was probably just as well; it was rather expensive!

Theatre Time in the West End

After the market, I found myself swept into the theatrical whirl of the West End. It was such a privilege to be there! I always feel like I’m walking in the footsteps of all the legendary performers that came before me when I’m in the theatre district! Tonight was particularly magical - "Wicked" is on my must-see list, and it certainly didn’t disappoint!

The staging, costumes and choreography were out of this world. The music - oh my goodness! I practically wanted to jump onto the stage and twirl along! And of course, Elphaba's emerald green tutu was divine. Maybe a green tutu for next week’s blog post…? 😉

Tutu-licious London Bites

To top off my theatre evening, I decided on a little late-night treat. I’m not gonna lie, my ballet life demands plenty of cake. But for a Friday night, a good ol' fashioned London Fish & Chips was calling! There's nothing quite like a perfect piece of cod battered in the finest crispy breadcrumbs with a dollop of mushy peas. And with a side of pink fizzy pop to finish it off – divine!

Homeward Bound

As the city lights began to twinkle and my toes were beginning to ache from a day on the go, I hopped back on the train, content and filled with inspiration for my next tutu creations. A Friday well spent! The pink tutu and I bid a fond farewell to London, eager to return to the vibrant life of the city and maybe even have another little pink adventure very soon!

Until next week my lovelies, remember to wear a little sparkle in your life, even if it’s just a tiny touch of pink in your wardrobe! Stay chic, stay sassy and always wear your pink tutus with confidence!

P.S. Be sure to check out www.pink-tutu.com next Friday for my next blog post. I'll be talking about my performance this weekend and sharing some tips for finding the perfect pink tutu. See you there!

Big love,

Emma xoxo 💖✨
