Pink Tutu Blog London #739: Friday Feels & Frou-Frou in London Town!
Hello, my darlings! It's Friday, the day we all wear a little extra sparkle, and as the Pink Tutu Princess, that's no exception, especially when I'm exploring a city like London. This week I hopped aboard the train from my little Derbyshire haven and made my way down to the Big Smoke, all ready for a day of whimsical wanderings and fabulous finds. Let's just say I didn't disappoint, darling!
Pink Power Hits the Rails
I've got to admit, I can't help but be a bit of a train enthusiast, don't you agree? There's something utterly charming about watching the world whizz by as I tuck into a spot of reading (a Jane Austen novel this week, naturally) and indulge in some deliciously pink-hued cake I've packed myself. Let's face it, when you're rocking a bright pink tutu and a matching bow in your hair, anything else just seems...uninspired. Besides, it makes for great photo ops!
London Landing: Fashion, Frills, and Fun!
After a wonderfully picturesque journey, I arrived in London with the usual rush of excitement that always sets my heart a-flutter. Oh, London! First things first: finding the perfect pit stop for a pink-hued cappuccino (because one needs to stay hydrated for the day of shenanigans ahead, of course!), followed by a trip to a shop called "Vintage Vogue" where I discovered a positively divine silk scarf adorned with roses in a truly delightful shade of magenta - just my cuppa! They say pink goes with everything, and this darling scarf certainly made a statement with my already perfectly-pink tutu outfit.
Londonās Got Rhythm:
I'm a firm believer that life should be danced, so my next stop had to be somewhere with a good dose of rhythm. Thatās why I was so excited to make my way over to Sadler's Wells for a truly stunning performance by the Ballet Boyz. I adore their bold and daring style - and even their name just resonates with me! They even included a little Pink Tutu reference during the finale, complete with pink feathers and a beautiful dancer twirling a tutu on stage! Needless to say, I let out a little squeak of delight. I must have been giving those seated near me an odd look, but how can you help but be completely charmed by a group who have such an inspiring energy about them? They left me feeling like a whirling dervish of happiness, which I later found out wasn't a bad thing after the train ride!
Tutu Tour of London:
With my tutu on full display and a pep in my step, it was time for a little wander. First up, a jaunt through Covent Garden, with all its delicious street food stalls and street performers. Who knew you could buy edible cupcakes in a pink tutu design? My shopping bag is pretty much always packed to the brim when I come to London! You know I had to have those pink tutus! Next up, I took a stroll across Westminster Bridge. The majestic Houses of Parliament stood proudly in the distance, reflecting off the serene waters of the River Thames, and let me tell you, the Pink Tutu was more than a bit of a talking point for the tourists (donāt they know that Pink is a universal language!).
Theatrical Treats and Sparkling Discoveries
As evening descended upon London, the city transformed into a mesmerizing blend of twinkling lights and a gentle buzz of excitement. This called for an exploration of the theater scene! Luckily, I stumbled upon a beautiful vintage clothing shop in Notting Hill filled with amazing tutus in all shades of the rainbow! My mind went a little fuzzy for a whileā¦ (maybe it was the delicious peppermint tea from a nearby cafe). Oh! But, after all, I can't come to London without a little dose of West End magic, can I? The "Pink Tutu Princess" wouldnāt be caught dead without a theatre experience, and this week I landed front-row tickets to āLes MisĆ©rablesā at the Queenās Theatre! A tear-jerking spectacle, a beautiful score, and enough tragedy to make my little tutu flutter. But what really caught my eye was the beautiful, intricate, hand-painted, sparkly tutus! My darling friends, Iām sure you know exactly what happened next - an unplanned tutu shopping spree, where I spent my pocket money on some truly exceptional tutu treasures! I even found a vintage, lace, lilac tutu for Ā£10 - I call that a great score!
Dinner for One (and a Pink Tutu!)
I must admit, my London adventures are often best savored on my own. Iām such an independent little pink tutu fairy! But thereās something truly delightful about wandering the streets of a new city, completely enveloped in the joy of pink tulle. London holds a special magic for me. So, this evening, I dined like a queen. Well, perhaps a little bit of a ballet dancer queen, since I indulged in an incredible five-course meal at an intimate little Italian bistro in Notting Hill - think fresh, flavorful pastas, mouthwatering seafood and desserts so dreamy, they made my Pink Tutu Princess heart melt! Itās a good job I was wearing a tutu - because I practically exploded with glee. This was the perfect ending to an exciting day! After all, whatās better than indulging in some authentic, homemade Italian pasta, in the perfect pink tutu, on a beautiful night in London!
Sweet Dreams, Darling
Back at my lovely hotel (with a room fit for a Pink Tutu Princess, of course) Iām just about to slip into my sleepwear and pen down these London adventures before I drift off to a dreamy land of pink tutus, and ballet dreams. Until next week, darling readers, may your weekend be filled with frills, fun and plenty of pink!
Pinkly yours,
Emma
