Pink Tutu Blog: London Calling! - Post 763

Hello my darling darlings! Emma here, your resident pink-tutu-wearing, ballet-obsessed blogger, ready to whisk you away to the dazzling delights of London town!

It's Friday, which means one thing: it's time to Pink Tutu Blog! I’m feeling positively bubbly as I sit here in my London hotel room, overlooking the city. I know it's a cliche, but there's truly nothing like arriving in London.

My train journey from Derbyshire was, as always, a delight. I had a lovely chat with the man opposite me, a fellow theatre enthusiast. We discovered a mutual love of Miss Saigon – the dreamcast! – and I even snagged a couple of theatre tips from him. There's nothing better than sharing your passion with others! And, of course, I had to take advantage of the train's comfortable seating and admire my new fluffy pink tutu, it really made the train journey a delight.

Now, I’m on a mission to fill you all in on my fabulous London Friday adventures! Buckle up, babes, because we're going on a whirlwind tour!

The Power of Pink in Piccadilly

My first stop had to be Piccadilly Circus, right? What a riot of colour! This was actually my first trip to London in my favourite, brand new fluffy pink tutu, and I felt absolutely on point! People seemed to be charmed by my style, which just goes to show: pink tutus have a power that no one can deny. Even the pigeons seemed a little more amicable when I posed with my ballet shoes in front of the iconic Eros statue, as you can see on my Instagram feed (@PinkTutuEmma, of course). 😉 Don't forget to check it out!

Ballet Ballet Everywhere

The Royal Opera House has been beckoning for years! It’s simply breathtaking, even just seeing it from the outside. There's a regal feeling just stepping onto the plaza, and my tutu felt right at home! I can already feel my excitement building for the Sleeping Beauty show tonight. I might have to indulge in a little pre-show shopping at Liberty, wouldn’t you agree?

Speaking of ballet, the wonderful Dance Umbrella Festival is currently underway, showcasing the absolute best in dance. I know, I know, my ballet obsession might be a bit much, but there's something magical about ballet, don't you think? It’s like a window into another world!

Lunch with a View

Later on, I found myself taking a much-needed rest from all the excitement by settling into one of the lovely outdoor cafes in Covent Garden. I felt like I was surrounded by the most elegant flowers, thanks to my tutu, and the music was so charming! It was all just so, ooh la la, and definitely not as scary as the rumours suggest! Honestly, Covent Garden felt just like one of those idyllic French squares that you see in romantic movies. Just picture it: my beautiful pink tutu, sunshine streaming down, the delicious smell of freshly baked pastries (and perhaps a slice of cake?) – a true moment of joie de vivre!

Shopaholic Diaries

You simply cannot go to London without experiencing its extraordinary fashion scene, so naturally, a shopping spree was on the agenda! My personal favourite spots are the King’s Road and Carnaby Street. The fashion scene there is truly exhilarating! You never know what quirky little shop or designer you’ll find around every corner, and you can spot so many exciting and creative individuals too. My day isn't complete until I've perused at least five independent stores, maybe found a beautiful new tutu or a pair of adorable ballet pumps to go with my amazing vintage Chanel - ooh, the memories. (Of course, a purchase had to be made at the iconic Harrods, where you're basically guaranteed to find everything under the sun.)

The afternoon went by so fast with a detour through Hyde Park. Who needs an actual garden when you can wear your own flower power tutu in one of London's most iconic green spaces?! And I mean, what's a day in London without a visit to Buckingham Palace, right? My tutu made such a splash - literally! Everyone was saying “Ooh!”, “Look at that lovely tutu!”.

I'm just going to stop there, for now. But stay tuned next week, as I take you to see a musical and get some inspiration in one of the most beautiful West End districts you will ever see!

Have you ever visited London? What are your favourite things to do? What would you wear to make a splash in the city?

Tell me all your thoughts in the comments below, and as always, stay chic and stay positive!
