Pink Tutu Blog London - Post #775: A Pinktastic London Friday!
Hello, my gorgeous darlings! It's Friday, which means it's time for another Pink Tutu Blog London post! And guess what? I'm in the big smoke, darlings, the fabulous city of London itself!
I took the train down from Derbyshire, as always. I do love a train journey! I mean, where else can you get such a fab view and relax in your seat while the scenery rushes by? And a train journey gives me time to plan all my adventures, you see. Because, oh my goodness, London's bursting at the seams with things to do. So much to see, so much to do...and, of course, so much to wear!
London Ballet Love:Now, my day began at the lovely Royal Opera House. I had been working on a fundraising performance back in Derbyshire – you've no idea how many fancy footwork hours I put into learning that new bit from Giselle – but it had been a tremendous success and I had enough in my ballet kitty to splurge on a show.
Of course, seeing a ballet performance in Covent Garden is an absolute dream! There was a beautiful, twirly production of La Bayadère. And just seeing the dancers’ faces lit up in the spotlight made me want to leap onto that stage myself! My absolute favourite was a beautiful pink tutu – of course! - on one of the soloists. It made me want to skip out into the streets and share my love for twirling and tulle with everyone!
And after the show, a bit of post-show supper is just the thing to bring a fab day to a fab close. There’s this adorable little Italian trattoria near Covent Garden – the most divine, fragrant pizzas and oh, the gelato, you’ve got to try it! I think I may have even managed a sneaky slice of their pistachio cake (it’s their secret, they have a whole secret menu, so posh!).
London’s Pinkest Princess:Well, a little birdie told me the new Pink Sugar collection was arriving at Harrods – a trip was most definitely in order, wouldn’t you say? My dearest darlings, you HAVE to see this collection. Sparkly dresses, glittering handbags, even pink and sparkly ballet flats – it’s literally every little pink lover’s dream. Of course, it wasn’t just about the shopping, even though that’s always fun. Harrods is a wonderland. So many beautifully dressed people and all sorts of fun displays and exhibits – like a real-life fairytale castle!
But London's not just for fashionistas, oh no!
A London Afternoon with the Animals! After a spot of afternoon tea with scones (and strawberry jam, my favourite!), I wandered down to Regent's Park, oh, so much more pleasant than the rush of the city streets, all blooming with pretty pink flowers, lovely. A gentle, romantic stroll, lovely! Then I bumped into some adorable little fluffy penguins! They were actually at the London Zoo, a brilliant place to be! You can get right up close to the animals, even some cheeky little monkeys, which, dare I say, seemed almost like miniature ballerinas leaping about. It was the best place for photos, so much inspiration for some fab new pink outfits, darling! And a spot of people-watching while soaking in the sunshine and giggling at the zoo antics.
London is really all about discovering and enjoying the city's unexpected little nooks and crannies. Even if that means wandering around Regent’s Park and admiring the squirrels, darling!
Pink Tutu London, A Friday Delight! So, it’s been a perfect pinktastic Friday. I think it’s the best thing to do on a Friday night after a long week, wander around a wonderful city, have a little adventure, have a little laugh, meet new people. London, with its charm and energy, and of course, its shops – is simply my cup of tea.
But the evening’s not over, oh no, darlings! I’m off to see a fabulous West End show, it’s The Phantom of the Opera – such drama, such intrigue – I adore the costumes! (Especially the pink ones). I’ve been so excited for this, it's a favourite since I was a little girl – and just think, I’m here, actually experiencing it! And maybe even inspired by those fantastic costumes for a little pink creation of my own.
Until next time, darling, from London, where everything's pinker. Keep dancing and always wear your pink tutu. It's good to see a little pink sunshine!
Much love,
