Pink Tutu Blog: London Calling! #805
Hello, my darling tutu twirlers! It's Friday, and that means a brand new post from your favourite pink-obsessed ballerina! I'm so excited because this week, I'm back in London! I travelled up by train from my little Derbyshire abode – I adore those journeys. It's a chance to switch off and soak up the scenery, but with a dash of chic, of course! I wouldn't be caught dead on a train without a touch of pink. 😉
This week, my schedule is bursting with fun, from catching a fab ballet performance to hitting some seriously fabulous boutiques (pink tutu obligatory, natch!), and I just had to share it all with you! It's time to twirl through the sights and sounds of London, and who knows, maybe we'll even convince a few more people to join the Pink Tutu revolution.
Pink in the CityYou know my love for all things pink is strong, but let me tell you, London is a city that embraces it like a long-lost friend. Even the iconic red buses look rather fetching with a splash of blush, and that’s just the tip of the iceberg! I'm talking chic pink department store facades, gorgeous floral displays, and even some eye-catching pink architecture, oh, the dreams! Every turn is a potential photo op! It's almost impossible to be in a bad mood when everything is so charming and rosy.
I took a spin through Oxford Street today and, oh my goodness, it was a feast for the eyes! I just had to pop into Liberty London – those gorgeous floral patterns and oh-so-soft textures are absolute dream material. And who could resist a little visit to Zara and Selfridges for a spot of pink-tastic retail therapy? It wouldn't be a London adventure without some fabulous shopping!
Speaking of retail therapy, the absolute highlight of my day was finding a vintage shop tucked away on a charming little cobblestone street. Imagine my delight when I found the most exquisite silk scarf in the palest blush pink. I simply had to have it, and I can't wait to wear it to the ballet performance tonight! You can bet it will perfectly complement my newest tulle creation. 🤫
Back to the StudioAs I said, tonight's all about ballet. I snagged tickets for an evening performance at the Royal Opera House. Let me tell you, there's no better feeling than settling into my plush red seat (which, let's be honest, wouldn't look out of place in a Parisian boudoir), and being swept away by the sheer beauty of the dancers’ movements.
It reminds me of why I do what I do. Ballet is more than just a performance; it’s art in motion, passion given form, a dedication to beauty and grace. I truly believe that everyone can feel a connection to it, and that’s why I encourage you all to try it! The beauty of ballet can inspire so much more than just movement – it can inspire confidence, creativity, and a love for life's little (and big!) wonders.
You know I'm also a big fan of ballet-inspired street dance and theatrical performances. The sheer energy and raw talent of these performers never ceases to amaze me. So, while I'm in town, I might just catch a few more shows. Who knows, maybe I’ll even see a future Pink Tutu dancer out there – the world is your stage, darling!
London Adventures to ComeI've only scratched the surface of what this incredible city has to offer! Next week, I’m planning a trip to Buckingham Palace – gotta make sure I have my most fetching outfit on point for a possible sighting of royalty, right? There’s also a little bit of museum hopping in store, and a delightful picnic in Hyde Park, surrounded by London’s natural beauty. And maybe even a little tea with a vintage, of course!
And for you, my lovely followers, I'm planning a special little pink surprise! It’s something I’ve been working on, a little project to spread some of that pink-tastic fun around. You'll just have to wait and see what I've cooked up!
So, as I sit here in my London hotel room, a cup of rose-scented tea warming my hands and the gentle melody of the city serenading me, I'm utterly smitten. This is truly the place to be! Now, off to dream of tutus and tea and all things London. Until next week, darlings! Keep twirling!
Love, Emma
