Pink Tutu Blog London: Post #840 - Friday, 2012-10-05: London Calling!

Hello darlings!

The train is whistling, a happy little tune as we race through the English countryside, leaving Derbyshire behind for the bright lights and endless opportunities of London. I can already feel the magic swirling around me, like the tutus I wear to my favourite ballet shows. Speaking of tutus, today is a big day – it’s the day I finally unveil my new pink creation: a stunning ballet tutu, the very essence of a blush pink dream.

You see, there’s a new dance store in Notting Hill that's making all the right moves. It’s absolutely bursting with sparkle and grace – the kind of shop that makes you feel like a prima ballerina even when you're just browsing. And today, I'm going to see it all firsthand, my new tutu tucked under my arm, ready for its debut.

This weekend is all about London. I'm not just talking about the bustling streets and the iconic landmarks, but also about the wonderful ballet performances and theatre shows I've got tickets for. It's like my own little whirlwind tour of the city's creative soul. And who better to lead me on this journey than yours truly, Emma in her pink tutu?

From Derbyshire to the Big Smoke

So, why London, you might ask? Why venture from my cozy corner of Derbyshire to the big, bright, and chaotic heart of the city? Well, there are many reasons!

Firstly, let's not forget the sheer, unadulterated beauty of London itself. Its grand buildings and historic squares seem to whisper tales of the past, their cobbled streets leading me on a captivating journey through time. It’s a city of wonder, always brimming with inspiration, and let’s be honest – the most gorgeous backdrop for a ballet lover like myself!

Then there's the vibrant heart of the city: Covent Garden. The very name resonates with an allure that echoes the elegance and magic of the ballet. The Royal Opera House – a temple of artistry that's practically begging to be danced in! Oh, darling, I’ve already envisioned myself gracing those hallowed steps in a glittering pink tutu, drawing gazes from audiences near and far.

Of course, it wouldn't be a proper London adventure without indulging in a little retail therapy! From Bond Street to Harrods, my fashionista heart skips a beat at the sheer spectacle of designer shops, brimming with dresses that beg to be worn in the spotlight. A pink-loving soul like me can't resist, and I expect my shopping bags to be rather large this weekend.

Finally, let's talk about the soul of the city – the sheer energy, the undeniable buzz, the sheer joy of being in a city where anything seems possible. London has a way of captivating your heart and inspiring your dreams. The streets are full of artists, performers, and creative souls just waiting to share their stories and their talents. It's the perfect environment for a pink-tutu-wearing, ballet-obsessed dreamer like me.

A Ballet-Filled Weekend

You already know my favourite place in London: Covent Garden, home to the world-famous Royal Opera House. The very thought sends shivers of anticipation down my spine.

Tonight, I’m going to witness the majesty of "Swan Lake." A stunning ballet set to Tchaikovsky’s masterpiece, it's one of the most beautiful stories ever told. The elegance of the choreography, the emotion conveyed through movement – it's the essence of the dance itself. It will be a sight for sore eyes – and even sorer toes from all the rehearsals!

But that's not all! Tomorrow, I’m heading to the Sadler’s Wells Theatre for the opening night of a contemporary ballet show that's causing quite a stir. I'm hearing it’s pushing the boundaries of dance, taking risks, challenging conventions – and all while wearing some of the most extraordinary costumes.

As you can tell, this is one ballet-mad adventurer. Every show is an event, a new world to explore, and this weekend, my London adventures are sure to make for some stunning memories.

Fashion on the Go

My weekend wardrobe is filled with shades of pink, of course. Pink tutus, pink cardigans, pink dresses, and a few splashes of lavender and ivory to add a touch of sophistication. I can't leave the comfort and glamour of pink behind, even as I wander the streets of London.

And speaking of streets, you simply can't stroll through London without observing the people watching parade. It's an inspiring showcase of different styles, textures, and fashion statements. It’s impossible not to be drawn to the elegance of the British sense of style – it's an inspiration I'm hoping to blend with my own whimsical take on ballet fashion.

Pink Tutu Adventures

This Friday, I’ll be sharing photos of my new pink tutu, along with my first impressions of the bustling city streets and my journey on the train from Derbyshire.

Look out for photos from the Covent Garden market, my shopping hauls, and even a sneak peek of my pink-tutu-clad ensemble at the ballet! And most importantly, join me as I spread the joy of the pink tutu, reminding everyone that dancing is the ultimate expression of creativity and grace. It's time to step onto the stage of life with confidence, a playful pink tutu in hand.

I can't wait to share it all with you, my lovely pink-tutu-loving friends!

Happy Friday!

XOXO

Emma
