Pink Tutu Blog London - #850: A Friday of Fairy-tale Fun!

Friday 2012-12-14

Darling readers,

Happy Friday! As always, the Pink Tutu is back in London, and my dear little diary is ready to overflow with all the glamorous goings-on. You see, London is truly my happy place, where my dreams of swirling twirls and magical performances take flight. It's the place where a little pink tutu feels absolutely perfect, whether I'm popping into a vintage shop or catching the latest ballet sensation.

Train Tracks & Tutu Dreams:

It wouldn't be a Pink Tutu adventure without a journey by train. The gentle rumble, the ever-changing scenery... it's simply magical. I swear the rhythmic clickety-clack of the wheels sparks ideas for new dance moves. This week, Derbyshire’s rolling green hills gave way to the iconic red buses of London, each one adding to the whirlwind of excitement building up inside me.

First Stop: Covent Garden's Glamour:

My feet landed on the bustling cobblestones of Covent Garden with a spring in their step! You know, it's a magical little corner of London. From the delightful street performers to the delicious smells wafting from the stalls, Covent Garden is always an assault on the senses. Today, I felt like a beautiful, swirling ballerina right out of a storybook. And, what's a storybook without a few treats? The gingerbread lattes I snagged from that quaint coffee shop had the most exquisite spice flavour, perfect for a day of twirling.

London Ballet - A Vision of Perfection:

Tonight's treat, though? The Royal Opera House beckoned me with its exquisite promise of Swan Lake. I'll admit, dear readers, Swan Lake is always a ballet I find myself returning to time and time again. The tragedy of Odette's transformation, the intricate ballet technique of the Corps de Ballet, and the graceful beauty of the Prince's yearning for his swan princess. Every single performance feels fresh and exciting. This evening's production was truly exceptional - I must have held my breath for a good half hour, such was the mesmerizing beauty.

Fashion Inspiration & Pink-tastic finds:

After the breathtaking beauty of the Swan Lake performance, it was time to dive headfirst into London's treasure trove of fashion. Now, I wouldn't be a true Pink Tutu blogger if I wasn't looking for my perfect pink tutu! And the day simply couldn't have gone better. The most exquisite baby pink silk tulle danced its way onto the rack of a charming vintage store in Soho. I confess I couldn't resist its call! And it's true, darling readers, sometimes it’s those impromptu purchases that truly bring magic to life. I just know that my new tutu will twirl me right back to that Covent Garden charm whenever I wear it!

A Pink-Filled Diary & Sunday Reflections:

This evening, tucked away in my hotel room with a pot of pink-tinged Earl Grey, I filled the pages of my pink-covered diary with a little London magic. Friday's ballet dream was enough to fill a week with happy thoughts, but what was my biggest takeaway? Well, I have a feeling the memory of seeing Swan Lake at the Royal Opera House will dance in my head for years to come. And don’t worry - that baby pink tutu is going to feature in some seriously spectacular outfits!

But you know me, dear readers, a Pink Tutu blogger doesn't rest on past triumphs. I’m already plotting next week’s London adventure - the whisper of “a trip to Kensington Palace” is certainly on my lips. It seems like this pink tutu is just getting started! Until then, be sure to follow me on social media! I always love connecting with you!

Always Remember: The Pink Tutu Dreams on!

Much love,

Emma x
