#PinkTutuBlogLondon - Friday 2013-01-11: London Calling! (Post #854)

Hello my dearest Tutu-licious followers! Itā€™s Emma, back again with another exciting edition of #PinkTutuBlogLondon! This week, I took a whirl (and I mean whirl) up to the big smoke to soak in all things London - a city that makes my heart leap as much as a triple pirouette!

You know the drill, right? I'm on a mission to sprinkle some pink tutu magic across the globe! And how could I resist London's captivating call? Itā€™s brimming with vibrant street style, magnificent theatre productions, and enough designer shops to make even a budget ballerina's head spin!

Tutus, Trains, and Treasured Memories

Leaving my quaint Derbyshire village behind was a bittersweet affair. But then the train engine chugged to life, and the excitement began! I adore travelling by train - there's something magical about those rhythmic clattering wheels that transports you into a world of imagination.

Oh, and speaking of trains - my journey was definitely brightened by my perfectly pink tutu, of course! Youā€™ll never guess the reaction it got! One little girl on the train (so adorable!) actually called me ā€œPink Tutu Fairyā€! It made my day. Sometimes the simplest things, like a twirling tutu, can bring pure joy to others, and thatā€™s what I strive to do.

London Calling!

London welcomed me with open arms, and an impressive collection of shops. I waltzed through Covent Garden Market, a wonderland of charming trinkets, quirky knick-knacks, and those gloriously enticing sweet shops. The air was filled with laughter and the enticing aromas of fresh fruit and street food. London, you're so charming!

But alas, the clock was ticking! My priority: to reach the Royal Opera House! I was determined to catch Swan Lake, a performance that promised to be absolutely spellbinding!

Tchaikovsky, Tutus, and Thrilling Ballet

You know how much I love ballet. It's more than just a passion; it's my soul food! And to be there, in the iconic Royal Opera House, watching swans grace the stage...it truly is a dream come true.

Swan Lake captivated me entirely. From the majestic music of Tchaikovsky to the ballerinasā€™ breathtaking leaps, every movement was exquisite. It felt as though time stood still, a mesmerizing escape into the world of ballet.

There is no other performance like it, itā€™s truly a symphony of grace, beauty, and emotion! I was absolutely enchanted, leaving with a soul filled with music and a heart ready to embrace the rest of London.

London Fashion: Street Style on Point

As I ventured out after Swan Lake, I noticed how London is brimming with sartorial wonders. The streets pulsed with stylish people from all walks of life. Every outfit told a story, a creative explosion of personal style. From vintage chic to streetwise edginess, there was so much to admire!

One delightful find was the new Pink Tutu Boutique in Notting Hill! This tiny haven offered a delightful mix of ballet-inspired accessories, clothes, and even a beautiful pink tutu collection - of course!

Fashion and Food

Londonā€™s fashion scene isn't just about high-end boutiques; it's about that irresistible blend of style and everyday flair. Later that day, I strolled through Kensington, indulging in my love for finding quirky, independent shops. Itā€™s this delightful blend of vintage treasures and designer delights that keeps me hooked. Thereā€™s something about these unique pieces, they're not mass produced, theyā€™ve got character and they add a little sparkle to life!

For a tummy-warming treat after all the fashion browsing, I opted for a cup of hot chocolate, made the London way ā€“ extra frothy and topped with delicious whipped cream!

And just a side note, the delicious pastries I had in that lovely little cafe, tucked away near Kensington Palaceā€¦ divine!

Sharing the Magic

It was an absolutely glorious Friday in London, filled with inspiring performances, vibrant street style, and the chance to spread a little bit of pink tutu magic. My journey across the city showed me that London has something for everyone. I urge you to experience the magic of this truly spectacular city yourself.

But here's my secret tip: Don't be afraid to unleash your inner tutu-wearer! A dash of colour, a splash of sparkle, and a whole lot of fun - London welcomes it with open arms!

Donā€™t forget to share your own London adventures using the hashtag #PinkTutuBlogLondon! I can't wait to see what inspires you all.

Until next time,

Your pink tutu blogger,

Emma
