Pink Tutu Blog London: Friday 2013-01-04 - A Day of Delights in the Capital!

Oh, hello darlings! Itā€™s Friday again, and you know what that means... time for another exciting post on my Pink Tutu Blog London!

As always, Iā€™m here to share all the delightful adventures and enchanting moments from my whirlwind week. And what a week it has been! It's amazing how London truly captures my heart, with all its history, its vibrant energy and those stunning pink-tinted sunsets over the River Thames that have me swooning every time. This week I made the journey down from Derbyshire on the train. You see, itā€™s my aim to be as green as possible, so taking the train to London is my go-to, itā€™s more fun than the underground, anyway!

Anyway, back to Friday. My week began with a delightful trip into London for a visit to the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane to catch a matinee of ā€œThe Phantom of the Operaā€. Now, if you don't know, Iā€™m an absolute diehard theatre fan, and for me, seeing a classic like "The Phantom" in the spectacular setting of the Theatre Royal was simply breathtaking! From the stunning chandelier to the thrilling performances and the absolutely glorious musical score, it was pure magic.

And talking about "magical," can we talk about costumes for a moment? Ahem The "Phantom" costumes were something else, those beautiful velvet capes and that gorgeous crimson dress for Christine, sigh! If I could have my own Phantom inspired tutu I'd be over the moon! It would be a real statement, you know, sparkly velvet, maybe even a touch of black laceā€¦ Oh, the possibilities!

My day at the theatre also took a turn towards pink heaven with my trip to a new boutique I found tucked away near Covent Garden. The name of the shop is a secret, shhhh! But oh my word, it had the most amazing selection of silk blouses and velvet trousers. It was positively bursting with inspiration for any true pink-lover. I even found a delicate, silk, pink and white patterned dress, perfect for my next theatre performance. A touch of glitz here and there wouldn't go amiss, of course. It has the cutest little rose detail at the shoulder and just the tiniest bit of sequins on the bodice - subtle but still... a touch of pink magic!

Later on, I popped by the most enchanting tea shop on Piccadilly - The Pink Teacup. Just what my inner pink tutu blogger needed. It had such a whimsical, almost fairytale feeling with beautiful pastel-pink wallpaper, crystal chandeliers and even a dainty pink china teapot! You see, I believe that there's something truly magical about the colour pink! Itā€™s a colour that symbolises optimism, joy and creativity and, frankly, it simply brings a smile to my face. You can't help but feel a little bit happy wearing something in a beautiful shade of pink.

That's not to say my pink tutu makes a guest appearance at the tea shop. Not yet Oh, you see... *it is a work in progress - thereā€™s the *timing to consider... and a whole slew of rules and regulations, etc. but never you worry! This is a story for another Friday, and letā€™s be honest... you'll just have to wait and see!

And finally, no London adventure would be complete without a spin around the Covent Garden market! Oh, how I adore the bustle of Covent Garden, the aroma of freshly baked pastries and the incredible selection of quirky and creative trinkets! The other day, I found this fantastic vintage hat ā€“ itā€™s got a feathery detail in pink of course, and a huge bow! It just has to be incorporated into my next performanceā€¦ Now, it needs a little sprucing up - but we're making plans already. I know just the milliner. Itā€™ll be something spectacularā€¦ I told you, London has a million opportunities.

And that, darlings, concludes my Friday's fun. Itā€™s a truly fantastic feeling to return to Derbyshire each weekend, to my quiet country village and the countryside with it's peaceful and restful pace, to be with family and loved onesā€¦ Then, itā€™s off to ballet practice! My classes are where my passion for dance is nurtured and I can really stretch my creative muscles, especially those pink ones. The rest of this week has been dedicated to my routine and my performances; and a little rest for those dancing legsā€¦ That means I am up to my usual activitiesā€¦ ballet lessons on Tuesdays and Thursdaysā€¦ followed by a little time at the dance shop, looking for those little ā€œextrasā€... the kind of embellishments that make my outfitsā€¦ sparkly You know how much I adore those crystals and feathers ā€“ the more the merrier! Oh, and that new feather boa, what a discovery! Such fabulous, shimmery colors - almost an ombre-effect!

But my next performance will definitely be a touch more classic, I think! There's something extra special about the beauty of the traditionalā€¦ thatā€™s what gets me excited, when youā€™ve worked for hours to make those delicate steps perfect... to find a flawless look ā€“ with that timeless eleganceā€¦ It's something quite special, you seeā€¦

The weeks just fly by, it seems, but Iā€™m always thrilled when it comes to Friday and it's time for my weekly blog post! My next Friday blog post will, of course, be another fantastic adventure ā€“ so make sure you visit www.pink-tutu.com to catch up. And as always, stay positive, stay fabulous and keep those tutus close!

Until next week, darlings!

About me: Hello, darlings! My name is Emma, and I'm a pink-tutu-wearing, ballet-obsessed, fashion-loving girl from Derbyshire, England. Life is about taking chances, embracing your passions, and adding a little sparkle wherever you go, right? And I definitely go for sparkly and I do embrace my passions. Itā€™s how I create and sustain a life filled with dance, theatre, and lots of pink, of course.

You see, for me, dance is everything - it's how I express myself, how I escape the everyday, and it's my driving force. It's the why behind my ballet performances. I travel around England and have to make sure that my funds are carefully managed; so my trips are fuelled by the lovely performances that I stage. Every day is a celebration of the dance, with a splash of the perfect shade of pink, you see. Iā€™m making my way around the UK. London is such a creative city, it always has something for a girl with my interests! But my aim is to show people all the joys that our country holds and, shhh, hopefully get everyone to embrace the colour pink... you know, that magic and whimsy that everyone is craving somewhere deep insideā€¦

So come along with me on my adventures, darlings. Whether we're exploring the cobbled streets of London, immersing ourselves in the beauty of the ballet, or simply discovering a new pink accessory, I hope that my Pink Tutu Blog London will inspire you to embrace your own passions, be bold, and add your own touch of sparkle to the world!

Be sure to keep up with my adventures every Friday on my website, www.pink-tutu.com!

And, of course, rememberā€¦
