#PinkTutuBlogLondon: Friday 2013-04-19 - Tutu-ing Around London Town!

Hello lovelies! It’s Emma here, your favourite tutu-wearing traveller, bringing you another fabulous instalment of #PinkTutuBlogLondon! This week, I took the train down to London, leaving my Derbyshire roots behind for a whirlwind day of pink-tinted fun and fashion. I’ve been saving my pennies from all those magical ballet performances, and let me tell you, I was ready to let loose and unleash my inner fashionista!

Trains & Tutu-ly Divine Arrivals:

My day began in my usual pink-hued glory. I popped on my new lavender tutu – yes, you read that right! This little beauty has a touch of sparkly tulle, perfect for catching the eye and setting hearts aflutter as I zipped down the train carriage. You'd be surprised how many smiles a pink tutu can bring – everyone just seems to light up. It's like a touch of magic.

Of course, no London trip is complete without a trusty travel companion: a fluffy pink rucksack filled with essentials. Pink sunglasses, a trusty pink notebook for jotting down all my fashion inspirations, and even a little bottle of bubble bath for a luxurious touch to my arrival at the hotel. It’s all about making your journey as fabulous as your destination, isn't it?

London Landmarks & Tutu-rific Instagramming:

My first stop in London was the iconic Big Ben. I have to admit, standing before this towering clock tower felt quite grand! After capturing a few breathtaking Instagram-worthy pics, I decided to follow the river towards the Houses of Parliament. This spot offered the most amazing photo ops. I practically lived for a moment in that perfect picture of the river, Parliament, and a very pink, very happy ballerina.

Tutu-ing Through Covent Garden:

Next, I wandered down into the vibrant Covent Garden. The hustle and bustle was thrilling! I was mesmerized by the colourful stalls selling all kinds of trinkets, handmade crafts, and vibrant flowers. But, my true calling led me to a charming little vintage clothing shop. It was overflowing with fabulous frocks, and I couldn't resist picking up a floral-patterned dress in the softest shade of pink – just perfect for a day of strolling and shopping.

The Royal Opera House - My Dream Come True!

Of course, I couldn't come to London without experiencing the Royal Opera House. You see, I’m a massive ballet buff. This place holds a special place in my heart, and let me tell you, walking through those doors just sent a shiver down my spine. It was like stepping back in time to a bygone era of elegance and grandeur.

I spent hours exploring the exquisite lobby, taking in all the detail. And then, to my sheer delight, I stumbled upon a pop-up ballet shoe store. Naturally, I had to treat myself to a new pair of pointe shoes in my favourite colour – bubblegum pink! I’m already practicing in them – ready to dazzle at my next performance.

Ballet Street - Dancing With the Stars:

The real treat, however, was seeing the Ballet Street performance. I'm a bit biased, but I do think this contemporary dance troupe has some of the most breathtaking choreography I've seen in ages. Their passion was contagious, and I found myself lost in a whirlwind of movement and emotion. It was one of those performances that stays with you long after the curtains close, reminding you of the incredible power of art.

The Covent Garden Piazza & A Bit of a Dance-Off:

Feeling completely energized, I headed back to the Piazza at Covent Garden. This open-air market space was bursting with life – musicians, entertainers, and tourists alike. And of course, it just wouldn't have been a proper #PinkTutuBlogLondon without a bit of a dance-off, right? So, there I was, spinning and twirling amidst the joyful crowd, encouraging everyone to embrace their inner dancer. Let me tell you, the look on some faces was priceless!

Tutu-ful Fashion Finds & A Pinch of Vintage:

No visit to London is complete without a spot of shopping, especially when it comes to fashion! After my Ballet Street high, I ventured into a charming vintage store tucked away in Soho. There, amidst racks of stunning retro pieces, I found myself drawn to a fluffy pink feather boa. Oh my, it was like a cloud of pink paradise, just begging to be draped around my shoulders! Needless to say, it's already been styled for my next big event – watch this space, my loves!

A Farewell Dinner With Tutu-astic Views:

As the day wound down, I enjoyed a delectable dinner with views of the London skyline, a fitting end to a fabulous day filled with London’s beauty and inspiration. My pink tutu still twirling, I sat and gazed at the twinkling lights, feeling truly grateful for another fantastic adventure.

#PinkTutuBlogLondon: The Tutu Takes Over London!

London, I have to say, you are a city that never ceases to amaze me! It’s the perfect place to unleash your inner ballerina, indulge your fashion sense, and find endless inspiration for your next tutu adventure.

Remember, darling, life’s too short for dull colours and plain dresses. So embrace your inner sparkle, twirl with joy, and let your tutu shine! I promise, wearing pink is contagious – just watch as you spread the love for tutus wherever you go! And remember, the best way to find the perfect pink tutu is to try them all.

That's all from me for now. I’ll be back next Friday with more stories, fashion finds, and pink-tinted adventures. Until then, keep dancing, keep shining, and keep your tutu-fabulous spirits high!
