Pink Tutu Blog London: #886 - London Calling! (23rd August 2013)

Hello darlings!

It's Friday again, which means it's time for a brand new Pink Tutu Blog London post! And guess what? This week I'm in the fabulous city of London! I caught the train down from Derbyshire this morning, my trusty pink tutu (this week's choice is a fluffy, multi-layered number in the palest shade of pink, perfect for swirling amongst the sights) packed in my overnight bag.

I absolutely adore London. It's so exciting, vibrant, and always has something new to discover. The atmosphere buzzes with creativity, and I just love the blend of old and new, from the grand Victorian buildings to the trendy pop-up shops and buzzing street art scenes.

My Friday Fun

I arrived in London feeling like a princess in my pink tutu, ready to embark on a whirlwind adventure. The first stop, of course, was to my favourite little boutique just off Oxford Street. I was looking for the perfect statement necklace to complete my outfit for tonight's ballet performance at the Royal Opera House. The shop assistant gasped when I walked in, her jaw dropping as she saw my dazzling tutu.

ā€œOh darling,ā€ she exclaimed, ā€œYou just make London so much more fun!ā€

She's right, you know. Itā€™s amazing the reactions my tutu gets! It always brings a smile to peopleā€™s faces and sparks conversation, and who doesnā€™t love a little joy spread around?

After a truly magnificent afternoon browsing, I treated myself to a spot of afternoon tea at a charming cafĆ© with flower-covered balconies. Letā€™s just say, the pastries and tea were the perfect fuel for a girl on a mission ā€“ to spread the joy of pink tutus and explore the capitalā€™s hidden gems!

Fashion Frenzy

Next up, I made my way to Covent Garden. I couldnā€™t resist trying on some of the latest trends in the vintage boutiques there. Itā€™s such a wonderful place to find unique and statement pieces, perfect for giving your wardrobe that extra 'oomph'. I'm in love with a beautiful floral dress I found thatā€™s perfect for a garden party, or a trip to the ballet! (Because really, isn't everything a ballet? ;) )

Speaking of ballet, I simply had to pop into the Royal Opera Houseā€™s shop for a peek at the newest season's offerings. Of course, they had some incredible ballet shoes ā€“ I just had to buy a new pair, and naturally I found myself choosing the most beautiful pink pair.

Ballet Bliss

Iā€™m SO excited to be seeing 'Swan Lake' tonight. The Royal Ballet are absolutely incredible, and the production promises to be truly spectacular. Itā€™s been a dream of mine to perform on this stage one day. Perhaps a Pink Tutu Blog guest performance in the future...? Who knows!

I always get inspired by watching ballet. It reminds me to always keep dreaming, to strive for perfection, and to be graceful in every aspect of life, even when things get a bit tricky. I always leave the theatre feeling like I can fly ā€“ just like a swan!

Sharing My Love for Pink Tutus

While I was walking past the Victoria Memorial outside Buckingham Palace this afternoon, a little girl asked me about my tutu. She said it was the most beautiful thing she'd ever seen!

Of course, I took a moment to chat to her about pink tutus, and she confided that she loved to twirl just like a ballerina.

This kind of experience just reaffirms my belief that everyone deserves to have a little pink tutu magic in their lives! Iā€™m on a mission to share this joy with everyone I meet, because it makes me so happy to see people light up when they wear one. Maybe one day even the Queen herself will be sporting a pink tutu. You never know!

Travel Inspiration

Don't forget you can follow my Pink Tutu Blog London adventures each week. If youā€™re thinking of taking a trip to London, here are a few of my top tips for enjoying the city:

  • Travel by train! The train journey through the countryside is just lovely.
  • Make sure to have a spot of tea. A true London experience!
  • Be sure to find a little hidden gem. Wander down some of the side streets and discover little cafes and shops you wouldnā€™t find anywhere else.

Stay tuned for next week's post, when Iā€™ll be sharing my experience at tonight's 'Swan Lake' performance!

Until then, twirl your worries away and be sure to embrace your inner ballerina, no matter where you are.

And of course, don't forget to spread the pink tutu love!

Love, Emma xx
