Pink Tutu Blog London: Post #894 - Friday 18th October 2013: London Calling!
Oh darling, what a glorious morning it is! The sun is streaming through my window, and itās officially tutu time in Derbyshire. You know that feeling when the crisp air whips through your hair as you leave the house, and the city's buzzing with excitement? Todayās that day ā Iām heading off to the capital, London town, to embrace all the loveliness it has to offer. I've got a little show later in the week, which means itās time for a Friday treat - and what better way to get in the mood than by donning a stunning new pink tutu and embracing my London adventure?
Iām absolutely thrilled to be back in London. The city is such an inspiring whirlwind of creativity and energy! And, of course, itās the best place to spot some gorgeous vintage finds - canāt wait to pop into a few boutiques later!
It's not always easy travelling from Derbyshire, so my faithful tutu gets folded up carefully and tucked into a roomy bag. You've gotta make sure your tutus are cared for, donāt you? Luckily, todayās train journey was lovely. There was even a sweet old lady who said she wished sheād had the courage to wear a pink tutu back when she was a young girl. Aw! Makes me wish I could gift everyone with a little sprinkle of tutu magic!
Arriving at Kings Cross station felt like stepping into a scene from one of those wonderful old-time films. I can just imagine a vintage, silver-screen siren with her glamorous attire and feather boa sashaying around this station, a vision of pure style! Itās just so brimming with history. The bustle and chatter were infectious. My toes tapped with anticipation as I hopped onto the Tube!
For my first London outing, I decided to pay a visit to Covent Garden. What a charming area! Cobbled streets, quirky little shops, colourful flower stalls... it's a symphony of sensory delights. I took a moment to marvel at the grandeur of the Royal Opera House. I mean, can you imagine dancing there? My head spins at the sheer elegance of it all! And then, a little gem just off the main street - a sweet cafe, tucked away, a haven of whispered conversations and delicate cakes. I'll definitely be returning for a cup of tea and some pastries in the near future.
And speaking of tea, you know it was impossible to come to London without visiting one of the traditional tea rooms. There's just something magical about afternoon tea, all the delightful cakes, and that delicate aroma of brewing teaā¦ absolutely delightful! My pink tutu was feeling a bit overdressed in such a genteel setting. Maybe it would feel more at home in a charming, French-inspired tea salon with chandeliers sparkling and music wafting softly in the airā¦ who knows!
London just has a way of inspiring. Everythingās so theatrical - I feel as though Iām constantly in a ballet performance myself! And talking of performanceā¦I spotted a little poster promoting a ballet show, āThe Sleeping Beauty,ā which is coming up next month. I may just need to treat myself to a ticket. My favourite thing about going to shows is all the wonderful tutus everyone is wearing.
Iām feeling rather tired, after all the wandering about. After all, a girl can only twirl for so long, you know! I've just stepped into my hotel room, a cosy little sanctuary overlooking the Thames, and I am about to treat myself to a hot, bubbly bath. Maybe later I'll head out again to find that special outfit to wear for the ballet show! Oh darling, I simply adore Londonā¦ its energy, its elegance, its endless charm. Stay tuned for more adventures next Friday!
Iāll be posting a full report on my shopping adventures next Friday ā you wouldn't want to miss out! And please do join me in wearing pink tutus - thereās no better way to embrace life, you know?
Until next time, darling!
