Pink Tutu Blog London: Post 901 - London Calling!
Hello my darlings!
It's Friday, and you know what that means! It's time for another Pink Tutu Blog London post, fresh from the capital of style, culture, and my absolute favourite place in the world - London!
This week, I've left the rolling hills and picturesque villages of Derbyshire behind for the hustle and bustle of the city. It's funny how easily I fall back into the rhythm of London, like stepping into a familiar, comforting, and slightly manic ballet. I even feel my movements are more...en pointe when I'm here!
For my London adventure, I decided to take the train. There's something so romantic and glamorous about travelling by train. I mean, you're basically living out a scene from Murder on the Orient Express, just without the suspense of a murder! Plus, it's the most fabulous way to see the English countryside roll by – just don't try to eat those cheese and pickle sandwiches! (Let's be honest, it's the packaging that gets to you, isn't it?)
Anyway, let's not get sidetracked! This week is all about London, and I'm so excited to share my whirlwind tour with you all.
My London Must-Dos
So, what did I get up to on my trip? Let me tell you...
The West End! I wouldn't be in London without a visit to the West End, where my absolute favourite type of fashion show happens! I managed to get tickets for Wicked (because who doesn't love a green, green girl?), and oh, the costumes, the dancing, the story - it was absolutely brilliant! I especially loved Elphaba's emerald dress - just fabulous! It was everything I imagined, and more, with a little bit of magical flair.
London's Dance Scene But my trip wouldn't be complete without some proper ballet, so naturally, I hit the Royal Opera House for a breathtaking performance of Swan Lake. There's something absolutely magical about seeing the grace of the dancers and the beautiful music swirling together in that grand hall. They practically sent shivers down my spine - in a good way, of course! The swans were absolutely beautiful, and I can't help but feel like the graceful dancers and delicate sets gave my own tutu-wearing day a touch of elegance.
Pink-tastic Shopping Spree! Of course, no London trip would be complete without a little shopping. My top picks for pink and tulle? Let's just say Liberty was a dream come true, and Oxford Street is always bursting with inspiration (even if the crowd can sometimes feel a bit...intense). My favourite find was a vintage pink feather boa at a tiny little antique shop in Notting Hill. It just had to come home with me!
London by Train: A Journey in Pink
My trip to London was not just about the city itself, but about the journey! I found the perfect outfit: a classic black pencil skirt (so chic, darling!), a crisp white blouse (for that perfect Parisian feel), a bright pink knitted cardigan (because let's face it, winter in London can be brisk), and of course, my signature pink tulle tutu! Yes, even a journey on the train needs a little tulle magic, you know. It always brings me back to my first dance class, my little tutu filled with dreams and excitement...and yes, maybe a little pink-hued dust!
Food, Glorious Food
After all that running around, I had to fuel my creative fire with some London eats! I treated myself to afternoon tea (can't go wrong with that, can you?) and, of course, had to indulge in the best fish and chips I could find! It was practically a British food festival for one.
Friday Night Feels
As I'm sitting here writing, it's already Friday night in London. I can see the twinkle of lights reflected in the Thames, and feel the air alive with the excitement of the weekend ahead. It's a beautiful city with an amazing buzz. And, my darling friends, what better way to end this perfect London weekend than by sharing my little piece of pink tutu heaven with you!
My London Message:
Every adventure, whether it’s dancing your way to the top of the theatre scene or exploring a vibrant city, is just as exciting with a little bit of pink and tulle! Don’t be afraid to bring your own flavour to the experience - let it be vibrant, let it be sparkly, and let it be… pink!
Until next week, London darlings!
Lots of love, Emma xoxo
Post Scriptum
Just a quick note about the train! It was a lovely, comfy carriage, very much First Class, naturally. It's amazing what you can get when you sell a few tickets to the next show! (Shhhh...Don't tell anyone!).
