Pink Tutu Blog: London Adventures - Post 927!
Hello, darlings! Emma here, your favourite tutu-wearing traveller, back with another London escapade for you all! This week's adventure has been an absolute whirlwind of pink tutus, sparkly shoes, and all the loveliness that London has to offer. Buckle up, because this post is overflowing with excitement - just like my pink tutu wardrobe!
From Derbyshire to London by Train
I kicked off this weekend with the most romantic thing ever - a journey on the train! Thereās nothing like a good olā British train journey for setting the mood, especially when you're travelling to a magical city like London. This week, my train journey took me straight from my Derbyshire home, with its quaint villages and rolling green hills, to the heart of the London, and boy oh boy, does London ever know how to sparkle!
I even packed my trusty pink tutu case for this journey! It's my secret weapon for staying chic and comfortable while travelling. I simply love that it pops up so I can easily change and be out of that case within seconds, in the middle of a train, station or a parkā¦ Anywhere! My pink tutu always travels with me, ready for a spontaneous twirl - you never know when youāll need a twirl moment, do you?!
London Fashion: Pink Tutu Chic
Speaking of my pink tutu, you'll never believe what happened to me in London! I had this wonderful, fluffy pink tutu with feather trim on it, and as I strolled past Harrods, it was so beautiful in the sunlight it caught the attention of a window display artist, who then popped out and asked me if I'd be willing to be photographed for their new window display! They styled me in this beautiful, sleek pink gown, with a little crown and pink shoes, of course, and even though I was a tad nervous at first, it was just the best. It was a total dream! And they actually used it in the Harrods windowsā¦ I feel very proud of that photo opportunity.
After the window display extravaganza, I had a proper rummage around Harrods to see if theyād picked up any new tutu trends (of course, I always bring a pink tutu in my bag!), But really, I just wanted to check out the newest fashion trends for my blogā¦ oh, and grab a few more things for my personal collection. I love browsing their beauty and perfume departmentā¦ they have every scent imaginable!
And wouldnāt you know itā¦ the store had a gorgeous new pink silk chiffon dress that made my heart flutter! Perfect for a weekend of fun, fashion, and of course, pink tutus!
A Ballet Blitz!
No trip to London is complete without a dose of ballet! I absolutely had to see āGiselle,ā and trust me, it was utterly spellbinding! The dancers were graceful and powerful, the story so emotionally resonant, and the musicā¦ well, it simply transported me to another world. It really is something else to see, even if youāre only into it a little.
Before the show, I did a quick outfit change. I opted for a classic, beautiful blush pink tutu, complete with a dazzling jeweled tiara to top it off. I mean, I had to have a look to be reckoned with while walking through the majestic entrance of the Royal Opera House. Youāve got to take advantage of a setting like that when itās at hand!
A Day at Covent Garden:
The Covent Garden Market has to be one of my favourite spots in London, especially on a Friday. The atmosphere is vibrant, buzzing with life, and the stalls overflowing with colourful goodies, gorgeous food and of course, endless opportunities for inspiration! There were also some gorgeous ballet street dancers, a perfect accompaniment to my own pink tutus and my pink and white striped dress.
For my Covent Garden escapade, I chose my vintage pink tutu - the one thatās been on numerous journeys and has so many stories of itās own, in this fun floral pink sundress with bright green shoesā¦ It was very striking and had several passers by remarking how beautiful it was, with some people stopping to take pictures of my tutu and asking for selfies!
My Pink Tutuās London Adventures:
It's impossible to explore London without letting my pink tutus shine. This weekend I saw the Changing of the Guards, in full regalia, with a magnificent backdrop of Buckingham Palace. This amazing historical event definitely needed a special outfit! And what better for such a spectacular scene, than a pink tutu and a crown, right?! And just like my ballet shoes on tour, the pink tutus went with me. It was perfect and absolutely wonderful. Everyone smiled, people wanted pictures and the atmosphere was magical! The London weather was shining too - we had a gloriously sunny day for our sightseeing adventures, which definitely put me in the mood for an impromptu twirl at Big Ben - which of course I did. Itās one of the most amazing landmarks in London!
And as evening arrived, my trusty pink tutu went with me for a stroll across the Millennium Bridge. It is just the most beautiful spot! All lit up and twinkling. I'll never forget those moments - London's lights twirling in my vision, along with the rhythm of my own tutus!
London, London, Londonā¦ A City of Dreams
I know, it's almost impossible to capture London's charm in just a blog post. It's a city of contrasts, always surprising, enchanting and forever brimming with vibrant life. From the bustling markets and stately palaces, to the iconic sights and hidden treasures, there's truly something for everyone in London! And the city embraced my pink tutu's message of joy and happiness! People seemed to just accept it without judgment, with some smiling, many laughing and lots wanting pictures! I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I love London and I cannot wait to go back again and show more of my tutu collection. I already know my pink tutus will have many, many adventures ahead!
Iāll be sharing another London adventure next Friday. Stay tuned!
Emma xoxo
