Pink Tutu Blog London: Friday 2014-09-19 - London Calling!

Hello lovelies! Welcome back to Pink Tutu Blog, where the only rule is to embrace your inner ballerina and dance through life in a cloud of pink. Today, I'm channeling all the glitz and glamour of a London Friday, and let me tell you, it's positively bursting with energy!

This week, my journey takes me straight from the heart of Derbyshire to the bustling streets of London. Oh, the joy of travelling by train! With a comfy seat and a book about a certain enchanting ballerina, it's the perfect setting to start the day.

Now, let's dive into post #942, dedicated to a day of ballet bliss, theatrical wonders, and London fashion that will make you swoon!

A Royal Treat at the Royal Opera House

I arrived in London with a fluttering heart, ready for a dose of ballet magic. The Royal Opera House was calling, and I was all ears! My performance at the quaint Derbyshire theatre on Wednesday, a whimsical rendition of "Swan Lake," helped finance this delightful escapade. It was a lovely way to add some funding to my London adventures, don't you think?

But back to the Opera House! The energy inside was electric, as if everyone had magically received an extra dose of champagne. I felt my own energy buzzing. I can't even begin to describe the incredible costumes, the flawless dancing, and the soaring music.

Let's just say, the beauty and precision of classical ballet have me totally mesmerised! It's one of the reasons I can't wait to grace the stage of London's esteemed Sadler's Wells Theatre later this year, where I'll be joining other ballet-mad souls for an incredible dance-a-thon. Oh, the possibilities!

Ballet and Brunch at the Ivy

No day in London is complete without a delicious bite to eat. This week, my foodie adventures took me to the legendary Ivy. It’s one of those charming, almost timeless restaurants that's steeped in history and oozing with sophistication. It was a lovely way to transition from the vibrant energy of the opera to the luxurious bustle of London's social scene.

Imagine the scene, if you will: I’m sipping on a perfectly-brewed English Breakfast tea, tucked away in a corner booth. Sunlight pours through the arched windows, catching the shimmering pink tulle of my tutu just so. This is the kind of "me time" that recharges my creative batteries! And then there's the food! It was divine, an ode to the finer things in life.

And you know what I wore? Of course, a pink tutu! It’s the perfect mix of elegance and playfulness. Just picture this: I'm perched on a velvet cushion, sipping my tea, tutu swirling around me, while watching the hustle and bustle of London life. It was utter perfection!

Exploring London's Theatrical Treasures

As the afternoon unfolds, I embark on a mission to experience some of London’s other cultural wonders. I'm walking around Covent Garden, the heart of London's theatrical district, surrounded by captivating architecture and enchanting energy.

Of course, I couldn't resist a peek at the enchanting world of the London Palladium, home to legendary music halls and stunning variety shows. This beautiful theatre is a true testament to the art of performance. I even popped into the London Coliseum, where opera and ballet intertwine to create something truly extraordinary.

Just browsing these cultural treasures reminds me of the amazing theatrical talent that London fosters. It’s a reminder that the spirit of dance and theatre beats strongly throughout the city.

Fashion Finds and Shopping Delights

After soaking up the vibrant energy of London’s cultural scene, I decide to indulge in a little retail therapy! Who says ballet and shopping can’t coexist? There are just too many incredible boutiques to resist. From the quirky charms of Camden Market to the chic and sophisticated haven of Bond Street, I was on a shopping spree that truly celebrated the heart of fashion.

One particular boutique on Bond Street has completely captivated my imagination. With its plush interiors and stunning window displays, it’s the kind of place you step inside and lose track of time. Of course, they have a collection of pink tutus that would make any ballerina weak at the knees!

And the best part? My purchases are helping to fuel my ballet ambitions! So, every sparkly pair of heels and luxurious scarf is another step closer to performing on a bigger, grander stage.

Dinner at Dishoom, the Spice of London Life

After my retail adventure, I'm craving the comforting warmth of Indian spices and aromas. London, I discover, offers a whole world of exciting Indian restaurants, and my tummy was set on an exploration!

That evening, I dined at Dishoom, a popular spot that blends the vibrant energy of India with the sophistication of London. It's the perfect place to catch up on the day's happenings over plates of aromatic curries and sizzling Tandoori treats. I even ordered a mango lassi - it’s a true London treat for the soul!

As the sun sets and the city lights begin to sparkle, I can’t help but feel a wave of warmth and contentment wash over me. There's simply something magical about being in London on a Friday night, knowing the city is teeming with a million stories and adventures.

Homeward Bound by Train

After a weekend packed with balletic grace, London’s vibrant atmosphere, and a sprinkle of my own pink tutu magic, I'm back on the train, homeward bound to Derbyshire.

Every London adventure, like the ballet shows and exploring new restaurants, reminds me of my own passions and encourages me to keep chasing my dreams, one pirouette at a time. And with a full heart and a head full of inspiration, I know I'll be back in London soon.

Stay tuned for next week's blog post, where I’ll be sharing some behind-the-scenes insights from my upcoming performance at the quaint Derbyshire Theatre, a dazzling celebration of all things ballet!

Until next time, my dears, stay fabulous and never forget to wear your pink tutu with pride!

Yours in pink,

Emma xx
