Pink Tutu Blog London - Post #976 - A London Friday in Pink!

Hello, darlings! It's Emma here, back from another whirlwind adventure, this time in the glorious city of London. This past Friday was all about experiencing the capital's vibrant energy, and of course, sporting my favourite colour – pink – from head to toe!

This week's journey was by train, my favourite mode of travel. Something about the rhythmic clickety-clack of the wheels on the tracks just gets my creative juices flowing! From my little corner of Derbyshire, it was a beautiful journey through the countryside, ending with the excitement of arriving at Kings Cross St Pancras. Now, who doesn't love a grand entrance, and there's no better stage than a grand Victorian station.

A Ballet-Filled Morning

The day began with a fabulous ballet class at the Royal Academy of Dance in Covent Garden. Talk about a dream come true! The studio, bathed in natural light streaming through the high windows, was simply stunning. The air crackled with anticipation, filled with the chatter of like-minded ballet lovers. I felt so at home. And, of course, I had to add a touch of pink with a beautiful pastel pink tutu – perfect for feeling graceful and inspiring the other dancers to join the Pink Tutu movement!

After a delightful class, the Covent Garden buzz was the perfect place to find a fabulously pink lunch! I chose a gorgeous vintage tea room with an afternoon tea menu that had my heart (and tummy) fluttering! The dainty sandwiches, clotted cream, scones, and teacups with dainty floral designs…pure bliss. And did I mention they had pink macarons?!

Theatre Dreams Come True

Afternoon saw us heading towards the National Theatre to see a stunning rendition of Antigone, a tragic Greek play. I have to say, it was absolutely gripping! There was an emotionality that left me feeling quite emotional. Afterward, we explored the National Theatre’s interior - the stark contrast to the beauty of Covent Garden made it feel a little industrial. Nonetheless, we found some truly incredible photo opportunities and captured memories to take back to Derbyshire.

Fashion Finds and Evening Treats

Feeling hungry, we took a stroll along Regent Street to indulge in a classic British dinner of fish and chips - served with a healthy dollop of mushy peas of course! Afterwards, we decided to get into the spirit of the West End, indulging in a fabulous evening shopping spree. I found a stunning fuchsia pink evening bag, with delicate embroidery and shimmering embellishments – the perfect accessory for a special night out!

Finally, with a well-deserved feeling of satisfaction from a day filled with adventure, we topped the evening with a visit to one of London’s many famous cocktail bars. With pink drinks flowing and delightful conversation, we celebrated another magical day in this dazzling city.

Pink Tutu Magic

I often get asked about funding my adventures. The truth is, my work as a ballerina and performer pays the bills for my travel, and I can truly say, the most exciting moments come when I can perform in new and different locations, whether it's a stage production, a flash mob, or even street ballet in London's vibrant city squares. My performances not only fuel my wanderlust but also fuel the dream of inspiring more people to embrace the fun and whimsical joy of wearing a pink tutu.

There is a magical power in pink, a delightful feeling of whimsy that it brings! It’s not just a colour; it's a statement, a way of embracing joy and laughter, a rebellion against the everyday. This week in London, the colour pink helped me feel empowered and adventurous, even when I was experiencing a little London-related jet lag (it does happen, even when travelling by train). So go forth, darlings, embrace the pink, wear your tutu with pride, and unleash your inner magic!

Don't forget to follow me on all the platforms! See you next week for more pink adventures!
