Pink Tutu Blog: London Adventures, Post 997!
Hello my darling readers!
It's Friday again, which means it's time for another London adventure! I'm feeling super excited because I just got back from a lovely trip to the capital, filled with pink tutus, dazzling shows, and enough shopping to satisfy even the most ardent fashionista!
For this week's escapade, I traded the rolling green hills of Derbyshire for the bustling energy of London. I adore train journeys, don't you? Something about the rhythmic clickety-clack of the wheels, the views flashing by, and the gentle swaying makes me feel like I'm gliding through life on a pink tutu cloud. It's definitely a far more glamorous commute than a car journey, even when my usual pink tutu outfit attracts the occasional curious stare.
Speaking of tutus, today I'm sporting my newly acquired "Dancing in London" tutu - a whimsical confection of shimmering pink tulle with delicate silver sequined embellishments. I'd been searching high and low for the perfect London-inspired tutu, and I finally stumbled upon this beauty at a tiny boutique tucked away in Covent Garden. It felt meant to be, you know? Like it was practically designed for twirling around Buckingham Palace!
Anyway, I've been in London for a couple of days now, and oh my, there's so much to see! Today I had a wonderful time taking a scenic river boat trip on the Thames, it felt magical as we passed all the iconic landmarks: Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament, Tower Bridge... Honestly, every view felt like a postcard! I took a million photos, as you can imagine.
My favourite part was definitely when the Tower Bridge lifted, I can't tell you how exhilarating it felt, a bit like a dance performance of its own!
And speaking of dance, I was absolutely spoilt for choice this week. It seems like every theatre in London is hosting a fabulous show, with a new play, musical, or ballet premiering seemingly every other day! My heart was bursting with possibilities, and after careful consideration (and some frantic internet searching for the best seats!), I decided on a truly stunning production of Swan Lake.
Oh my darling readers, it was breathtaking. The ballerinas were absolute angels, each graceful movement seemed to tell a story, and the music...well, let's just say I had tears in my eyes. The whole thing was simply magical. I can't recommend seeing a show in London enough! The city simply breathes life into every performance.
Of course, no trip to London is complete without a healthy dose of shopping! Oxford Street is always my first stop for a dose of retail therapy, with its department stores brimming with the latest trends, from high street gems to luxurious designer labels.
This time, I discovered a hidden gem of a boutique just off Regent Street that was crammed with beautiful vintage dresses and accessories. It was like stepping into a glamorous fairytale, all velvet, sequins, and feathers! I managed to snag a magnificent silver sequined jacket, perfectly paired with a scarlet-red dress with a fabulous feathered boa! It's the kind of outfit that demands a showstopping entrance, I must say.
Later, I treated myself to a scones and afternoon tea experience at a cute little tea room nestled in Hyde Park, I know how British of me, right?! I couldn't resist a pink-iced cake! They even served it on a vintage china plate, which made the whole experience feel so elegant. I have to say, I find that there's something utterly charming about these traditional English tea rooms, the perfect way to relax after a busy day of exploration!
By now, you must be tired from reading about my fabulous adventures, but it's not over yet! I ended my day with a completely unplanned visit to a charming ballet studio right next to my hotel. It was practically calling to me, with its pastel pink exterior and large windows filled with the sight of graceful dancers twirling around in their elegant leotards.
I couldn't resist popping in for a peek, and what a treat! I ended up joining an evening class, and I had the most wonderful time! Turns out I had some new pink tutu-inspired moves in my repertoire. It's wonderful to remember, no matter how far away you wander, there's always the perfect class waiting to welcome you with open arms and some delicious, twirling ballet fun!
Before you know it, I'm already thinking of next week's London adventures! My pink tutu and I are always on the hunt for the perfect shopping experience, a new dance class to master, or another magical theatre production. I'm a firm believer that there's a whole world of amazing possibilities just waiting to be discovered, especially here in London. It's just a matter of stepping out, embracing the moment, and making sure to pack your pink tutu!
Remember to keep your tutus bright and your dreams bigger!
See you next week, my lovely readers!

The Next Day, Saturday
This is where Emma would take you, behind the scenes of her blog life... but since it's behind the scenes, it's a secret, right?!
I'll add this extra bit for fun: Emma would also be posting photos and links in her blog post and adding a list of "Emma's favourite places" to her website:
- The Thames River boat trip: This one would definitely have photos with a pink tutu on a river boat and lots of fun pics with the Tower Bridge!
- A Swan Lake backstage photo: Emma would definitely try and snag a photo with the dancers in her Pink tutu, maybe even behind the scenes.
- Vintage Shop: a selfie with a feathered boa, because, come on, you have to have a photo of yourself rocking a feathered boa, right?
- Afternoon Tea: an image of the "Pink Iced Cake" and some tea in a pink cup
- The pink-exterior Ballet Studio: The place is so pretty, of course there are pics!
- A few dance photos from the class she attended.
More Behind the Scenes: I can't reveal all Emma's secrets, but I will tell you this. Every week she researches her blogs to see what is on in London. She also visits the shops, has the photos and writes her blogs beforehand, but only publishes them on Fridays! The best bit of it all? She manages to balance all of this with a life as a ballet dancer! It seems like it takes so much effort to achieve what Emma does but you can see, in her writing, she enjoys every minute of it.
