Pink Tutu Blog: London Calling! (Post #1000!)

Friday, 30th October 2015

Oh, darlings! I'm absolutely bursting with excitement to be back in London for this week's Pink Tutu Blog post! Today marks a very special milestone for my little corner of the internet – this is post number 1000! A thousand blogs about all things pink, sparkly and tutu-tastic. It’s a pretty phenomenal achievement for someone who started out simply wanting to share her love of dance with the world! I never could have dreamt I’d be here today, let alone in this glorious city!

The train journey down from Derbyshire was absolutely blissful. I had a whole carriage to myself (thank you, off-peak travel!), so I could properly revel in the joy of being on a train! My pink-hued travel outfit? Well, a trusty blush-coloured midi skirt, a chic, fluffy pink cardigan with adorable sparkly buttons, and my signature – the Pink Tutu. It's like wearing a fluffy, whimsical hug wherever I go, don’t you think? I know you lot adore the sight of it as much as I do!

And now, for the pièce de résistance of today – Exploring London in my Pink Tutu! I simply couldn't resist whipping out my trusty ballet shoes, which I tucked neatly inside my trusty backpack, and making my way to Trafalgar Square. This iconic landmark is an absolute must for any visitor to London! The towering Nelson’s Column, the National Gallery with its breathtaking masterpieces, and all those vibrant, quirky statues... pure London magic.

This particular Friday felt especially magical, as I was welcomed by a gorgeous, vibrant autumnal sky. The leaves on the surrounding trees had transformed into a glorious symphony of fiery reds, warm oranges, and mellow golds. London looked stunning against the backdrop of the autumnal foliage – just like a painting.

I simply couldn’t resist having my photo taken amidst this incredible scene. I popped a picture up on my Instagram for you lovelies to enjoy. And who knows, maybe a little bit of London magic will sprinkle a little Pink Tutu joy over your day too!

After taking in the majesty of Trafalgar Square, I wandered along the charming streets of Covent Garden – an absolute delight of vintage boutiques, lively markets, and a cornucopia of delicious street food. Let's be honest, you can’t talk about London without mentioning Covent Garden. This place practically screams 'vintage', 'artistic' and 'tutu-tastic'! Just as well for the Pink Tutu Queen herself!

There, amongst the hustle and bustle, I found the most gorgeous antique teacup! You know how much I adore vintage teacups. This one has an enchanting rosebud pattern on a pale pastel blue. The colour scheme is perfect for my girly pink and pastel themed wardrobe, and the floral pattern will make the most exquisite additions to my morning coffee routine. You’ll be seeing plenty more photos of this gem on Instagram!

As for food – well, a delightful Italian pizza was my lunch of choice. London pizza? Pure culinary bliss! You’ll have to excuse the food picture that went up on my Instagram today. A pizza can look a little uninspired on Instagram. But believe me when I say – this was the most divine Italian pizza in all of London!

And of course, what's a visit to London without seeing a ballet performance? It's all a matter of priorities, you know? Even with my hectic day of London explorations, a ballet show was an absolute must. I saw the Royal Ballet's performance of 'Giselle'. Pure theatrical elegance – the breathtaking artistry of the dancers, the graceful choreography, the intricate costumes – it was absolutely sublime! My favourite moment, you ask? It would have to be Giselle's mad scene, so powerfully moving, a real display of artistic brilliance! And if you're lucky enough to be reading this from London – you'll be able to catch it until 11th November! It's truly not to be missed, my darlings!

I’ve been thinking, the perfect end to a busy day is a bit of pampering. So, I made a quick stop at Liberty for some much-needed retail therapy – and it didn't disappoint. It’s a retail haven, really, a wonderland of clothes, shoes and makeup for every occasion – think vintage, floral and luxurious! Honestly, I could spend hours there! It would be a day well spent if I ask you.

One item from my shopping haul caught my eye more than any other. A silky-smooth pink silk scarf. A glorious splash of pink to wrap around your neck and enhance the luxuriousness of any outfit! Don’t you agree? It just screams femininity! I bought it in honour of my pink and girly heart. You know how much I love my girly wardrobe and luxurious pink items – especially now the autumnal temperatures are a little bit chillier. I know it’ll be one of my new favourite accessories!

And to end the evening on a perfect note? Dinner in London! You’ll just have to see my Instagram for all the details, as this delicious dinner is worthy of an entire blog post all of its own. (Trust me – London food can be very inspiring!).

This is what makes London such a magnificent place: a unique blend of history and modern trends, beauty and glamour, culture and fashion. There’s something for every taste here. And don't get me started on the shops! Every time I'm in London, I find something that speaks to my pink and sparkly heart!

So, how about it, lovelies? Will you be exploring London anytime soon? What are your favourite places in London? What makes it a special city for you? Leave a comment below and share your own little corner of London magic!
