Hey my darlings! Emma here, and it's Friday again, which means it's time for another Pink Tutu Blog London post!
I'm so excited to be writing this from London. This week has been jam-packed! As always, I've been swirling through the city like a twirling pink fairy - and what better way to get around than by train, am I right?
Oh, how I adore the train! It’s just so wonderfully elegant. All that comfy seating, that soothing clickety-clack as we whizz past the scenery... And a good dose of classic London style to boot! For this trip, I chose a very elegant tutu - you know, that fabulous blush pink tulle number I bought at that lovely shop near the Royal Opera House - teamed with my go-to navy blazer. You can never go wrong with navy! And, of course, I finished the look with my favourite, impossibly sparkly, blush pink ballet shoes - it just made me feel so regal as I boarded at Derby Station!
A Weekend Full of Delights:
This weekend has been brimming with loveliness - the sort of delights you can only experience in London. First, there was the absolutely divine Christmas Market in Covent Garden! It’s always such a whirlwind of lights, delicious smells and twinkling delights. I absolutely had to get some mulled wine and a couple of traditional German sausages to soak it all in - they really are the perfect Christmas combination!
Of course, no trip to London is complete without a good old theatrical adventure. On Friday evening I popped over to the Barbican Centre to catch "Swan Lake" - it's been such a whirlwind of beautiful moves and dazzling costumes. Honestly, that incredible ballerina - you could tell she just loved being on stage, such raw passion! You know me, I got all caught up in the story. I always end up sobbing with joy at the end!
Fashion and Ballet:
And speaking of fabulous fashion, there’s a reason they call London the fashion capital, right? After "Swan Lake" on Friday night, I found myself in the absolute wonderland that is Covent Garden - there were just so many beautifully dressed people swirling through the streets. The perfect spot to get a little bit of London-inspired fashion inspo.
Honestly, you can just feel the excitement for everything glamorous in this city! The people-watching is phenomenal. From perfectly curated vintage styles to some of the most innovative designers out there, I absolutely loved watching how everyone here chooses to express their personal style - that’s something London definitely gets right!
Saturday brought even more fabulous ballet to the stage. You know I’m a huge fan of all things ballet street - anything that blends my favourite things! And let me tell you, this ballet street performance at The Place really took me to a whole other world!
The combination of traditional dance with some absolutely cutting-edge moves? Let’s just say it had me so excited, I thought my pink tutu was going to burst with pure excitement! And after that performance? What else could you possibly do but head off to the Theatre Royal Haymarket and immerse yourself in the sheer magic of the London theatre scene? I saw a modern reinterpretation of "As You Like It" – what a delight! So much creativity on stage.
Finding the Perfect Tutu:
Now, you might be wondering - how does one manage to afford such glamorous trips and see so much amazing ballet? The truth is, I fund my London escapades through my own ballet performances. It’s a little bit of hard work, a whole lot of passion, and a touch of pixie dust magic. You’ve gotta dream big!
Speaking of dreams, my dream for the world is for everyone to wear a pink tutu at least once in their lives! It's all about celebrating who you are, having fun, and letting your inner ballerina shine through - no matter your age, size, or shape. Pink tutus really just add that sprinkle of joy to everything! Think of the beautiful world we would create! Imagine, dancing across the world with everyone in their own individual pink tutus, spreading joy and love!

This trip to London was just a magical reminder that you don’t need much to find pure joy – just a pink tutu, a good dose of passion, and the heart of someone who’s willing to embrace the fun. Honestly, there's nothing I love more than travelling and sharing my love of pink, dance, fashion, and the truly amazing sights of this beautiful city. It truly is the city of dreams!
