#PinkTutuBlogLondon - Friday 2016-02-26: A Pink Tutu Adventure in the Big Smoke!

Hello darlings! It's Friday, which means it's time for another #PinkTutuBlogLondon post, and I'm positively buzzing with excitement to share my latest adventures with you! This week, I traded the rolling hills of Derbyshire for the bustling streets of London, and let me tell you, the capital city has never failed to charm this tutu-wearing soul.

As you know, I fund my travel adventures through my beloved ballet performances, so this trip was all thanks to a particularly successful week of gigs. And you know what they say - "When life gives you tutus, twirl!" (It’s one of my new favorite sayings – it fits perfectly, doesn’t it?). Anyway, I hopped on the train early on Friday morning, feeling like I was about to enter a new and wonderful world. That pink train journey was magical - all sunshine streaming in through the window, the feeling of fresh possibility in the air... it was pure magic.

Now, this Friday, I had a particularly exciting plan in mind - a day spent exploring the glorious metropolis, immersing myself in the world of fashion and culture, and, of course, finding the perfect pink tutu for my latest performance! I was so excited I almost burst.

First things first - I was on a mission to conquer the mighty Oxford Street. Let me tell you, ladies, that place is a haven for fashion lovers! Every shop imaginable seemed to beckon me through their doorways, a kaleidoscope of colours and textures, and each with the potential to unleash my inner ballerina fashionista.

I just couldn’t resist the temptation of a little pink-tutu shopping spree, and after what felt like an eternity of window browsing, I emerged with my hands overflowing with colourful bags - new additions to my ever-growing tutu collection. There's just something about the swish of silk, the sparkle of sequins, and the effortless grace of a perfect tutu that gets my heart beating a little faster. (Maybe I'm obsessed… Just a little).

I even managed to squeeze in a stop at one of my favourite tea rooms in London, tucked away in a quiet courtyard behind Covent Garden. The air was fragrant with the scent of freshly baked cakes and delicate floral tea, and I had the most delightful afternoon tea with the most wonderful clotted cream scones! (You know my love for a bit of English cake. Just ask my fellow ballet girls). They were positively heavenly. And a very appropriate indulgence before embarking on my evening plans… A ballet show at the beautiful Royal Opera House! Now, let's be honest - there's nothing quite like witnessing the beauty and grace of ballet on stage, and tonight’s performance of ‘Swan Lake’ left me breathless.

Watching the dancers spin and leap was a visual symphony, every move flowing into the next. The power, the elegance, the vulnerability... I was captivated! Even with a full day of shopping, this show had to be the absolute highlight of my London adventure.

Afterward, I joined some friends for drinks in the nearby pub, a quintessential London experience that ended with us sharing stories, laughter, and a touch of London magic. I found myself surrounded by an abundance of energy and vibrancy, and it reminded me just how amazing it is to explore the world, especially when dressed in my signature pink tutu. I've often been told my tutus bring a splash of colour to the everyday. It's like adding a sprinkle of magic, a dash of whimsical delight, to even the dullest of days.

And now, my dear blog readers, as I wrap up another week’s #PinkTutuBlogLondon post, I can't help but feel a sense of deep gratitude for the opportunity to share my passion for ballet, my love for pink tutus, and my never-ending adventure in the world of fashion and travel with all of you.

As I type this from my little apartment in Derbyshire, a twinkle of the city lights reflecting in my mind, I already feel the yearning to return to the Big Smoke, to discover another piece of its incredible tapestry, to add another pink tutu to my collection, and to inspire the world to embrace a little more whimsy, a little more color, and, yes, a whole lot more pink.

Until next week, darlings.

Keep twirling!

*P.S. You know, after that glorious weekend, I was so inspired that I started an “every day in a pink tutu” challenge, posting a new #PinkTutu pic to my social media accounts every day. Maybe I should have been a ballet dancer. A tutu-wearing social media star might have been more fitting, lol! What do you think? Tweet your feedback @EmmaPinkTutu . Love to hear from you. *
