Pink Tutu Blog London: Post #1066 - Friday 2017-02-03 - A Tutu-filled London Adventure!

Hello my lovely pink tutu-loving friends! It's Friday again, which means it's time for another Pink Tutu Blog London post. And this week, I'm absolutely buzzing because I'm in the capital itself, exploring the streets of London, all in my favourite pink tutu, of course!

The journey down was delightful, as always. I adore train journeys, especially when they're filled with anticipation. This week, it felt extra special, because it's my first time in London since Christmas. So many exciting possibilities, I could hardly contain myself. The smell of freshly brewed coffee, the chatter of fellow passengers, even the rhythmic rattle of the train - it all feels like music to my ears when I'm on my way to London!

Arriving at Kings Cross Station, I was hit by that familiar rush of excitement. I could practically feel the energy pulsating from the cobblestones. And, as I navigated the bustling crowds towards the exit, I just knew this weekend was going to be spectacular!

After all, London's like my second home. I always feel so incredibly welcome here. It's a city that truly celebrates creativity and style. Plus, of course, it's a city where the ballet scene is truly magical, something I can never get enough of.

London: Where Ballet Reigns Supreme!

I spent this morning indulging in my passion, attending an incredible ballet class at The Royal Ballet School. The sheer skill of the dancers was mesmerising! Watching their elegance and precision, I couldn't help but feel inspired, ready to embrace the day with the same grace and strength. The school is so beautiful too; grand and ornate, but full of life.

Afterward, I was craving a bit of that London vintage charm, so I popped into the Barbican Centre. They always have fantastic art exhibitions, but today, it was the "Life on Screen" exhibit. I love how they present old film equipment, costumes, and behind-the-scenes photos - it feels like stepping back in time to the golden age of cinema! I could have spent hours browsing the exhibits. The history of movie magic is a subject that fascinates me, and to be honest, a few shots of vintage film stars reminded me a bit of ballet photography… a kind of theatrical art with elegant poses and beautiful lighting.

The Barbican is also such a perfect spot for a pink tutu, by the way! All the angles of its architecture just lend themselves to stunning photographs. I might just have spent a few extra minutes capturing some amazing tutu shots. The vibrant pink definitely stands out against the bold lines of the Barbican - an inspiring blend of elegance and urban grit!

London Fashion: A Feast for the Eyes

Speaking of London grit, it was definitely time for some serious shopping! I just had to see what delights were on offer in the Covent Garden area. That neighbourhood is so wonderfully whimsical, I simply had to check out their boutique stores. A quick stroll around the Covent Garden Market and I was already buzzing! It was like an explosion of creativity and colours! I could see so many lovely outfit combinations just from strolling by all the stalls, each more enchanting than the last. It felt as though every little corner was whispering new style ideas. I had a hard time resisting all the delightful fashion accessories! It really is an Aladdin's Cave for every fashion lover - I am so thrilled to have found the perfect pair of pink glittery shoes for the upcoming Spring season, and a sparkly hair clip for a touch of vintage glamour.

Of course, a good pink tutu wouldn’t be complete without a fantastic vintage handbag to add to the ensemble, right? You can find such amazing finds hidden away in the charming vintage shops on Neal’s Yard, especially the leather and vintage bags! They perfectly complement any tutu and make any outfit feel just that bit more luxurious. I adore the intricate details on each piece - every single one has a unique story to tell.

From the Theatre to the River Thames:

But it was time for the main attraction. I was finally headed to the Savoy Theatre to see a show! "Groundhog Day" had received such rave reviews. I've always loved Bill Murray's films and the play is so perfectly charming and clever, plus it is based on a comedy! What a perfect way to spend an evening!

There was a palpable excitement in the air as the theatre filled up. I love the way the crowd buzzes with anticipation before the curtain goes up. It’s a shared experience, an exciting promise of wonder! The performance was just breathtaking. The acting, the music, the story - every element combined into this perfectly beautiful, almost magical whole. It’s those nights where you're completely swept away by the magic of the stage that I feel so truly blessed. And as the applause rippled through the audience at the end, I realised how incredibly happy I was to be right here, right now, living this little dream.

Afterward, as the moon climbed high in the sky, I found myself wandering through the city, taking it all in. It was time to grab some fish and chips at a traditional London chippie - such a classic. The crunch of the batter, the delicate fish, all paired with a steaming cup of tea… nothing feels quite as perfect as that on a crisp London night.

A walk along the Thames, listening to the rhythmic sound of the waves lapping against the bank, with the city's lights reflected in the water. Just the sight of the London Eye all lit up is enough to make your heart flutter a little. London really is such a romantic city. This is definitely the magic of London. It's a city that inspires creativity and dreams, and that's why I just adore spending time here,

London - My Inspiration, My Home

As I catch the train back to Derbyshire this evening, it’s more than just a trip. It's a pilgrimage to the heart of everything that makes my pink tutu world go round!

There's an undeniable charm to the capital that draws me in every time, especially with my favourite pink tutu on. Whether it's exploring the historical streets, losing myself in the bustling markets, or marveling at a stunning ballet performance - every time I visit London, I come back with a heart full of joy and new ideas. It's a constant reminder to me to keep dreaming big, and keep twirling my pink tutu, wherever I go.

Because for me, London is so much more than just a city, it's an inspiration, a muse that fuels my passion and gives me the energy to keep chasing my dreams. And, of course, my ultimate goal to see every woman embrace the pink tutu - London has been a massive step on the journey!
