Pink Tutu Blog London: Post #1068 ā London Calling! š©°šø
Hello darlings! Itās Friday, and you know what that meansā¦ Pink Tutu Blog London is back, ready to whirl you away to a delightful weekend in the big smoke!
This week, I packed my little pink suitcase, grabbed my favourite tutu (the one with the sequined butterflies) and boarded the train from Derbyshire. I love travelling by train, you know? Itās such a relaxing way to start a trip. All those plush seats and that delicious aroma of coffee and freshly baked bread. It really sets the mood for adventure!
Londonā¦ the city that never sleeps! It always welcomes me with open arms, and this time, I was especially excited because my bestie, Sophia, was already here, waiting for me with a schedule full of exciting activities. Sheās a total city slicker, knows all the hidden gems and fabulous fashion stores. Itās always such a thrill to see London through her eyes, it gives the city a fresh sparkle.
Friday funā¦ What a day!
This morning, we started our day with a delightful breakfast of pastries and tea in a charming cafe in Notting Hill. After all that sugary indulgence, it was time for a ballet class at the Royal Opera House! š©° My body was a bit stiff after the train journey, but the amazing teacher at the Royal Ballet School quickly got me limbered up. We spent the morning practicing grand jetĆ©s and pirouettes. It felt heavenly, such a release!
Post ballet, Sophia led me to her favourite little boutique, The Little Dress Shop on Portobello Road. You wouldnāt believe the treasures we found! We came home with a couple of whimsical hats for our hair (mine was a bright pink pom-pom and Sophia chose a silver feathered number), a few quirky necklaces, and the most delightful floral vintage dress, which I already know will be perfect for a picnic in Hyde Park. The fashion scene here is just fantastic. I really wish I could bring my entire wardrobe back with me!
In the afternoon, Sophia took me to a sneak preview of the new musical āAlice in Wonderlandā. š You just have to see it! It's so captivating with stunning costumes and choreography. It will be a big hit. The sheer beauty of it all had me spellbound. There was a stunning dance sequence where the White Rabbit and Alice did a beautiful pas de deuxā¦ oh my! I found myself holding my breath and totally lost in the magic. Afterwards, we shared some champagne and enjoyed the atmosphere at the nearby theatre bar.
The eveningā¦ ah, the evening was dedicated to dinner and theatre. š“ We chose the vibrant Covent Garden for our evening outing and dined at an intimate Italian restaurant, feasting on pasta and the tastiest tiramisu. The waiters even made me a pink ribbon for my hair, they loved the tutu, haha! I always get compliments when I wear a tutu in public. The bright pink certainly makes me stand out!
Then, a walk through the twinkling Covent Garden Market (you just have to have some toffee apples in Covent Garden) before settling down at the gorgeous Gielgud Theatre. We saw āThe Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Timeā and were totally absorbed in the storyline. I just had to whisper to Sophia āWe must go to a theatre school in the morningā. There are just too many brilliant shows in London and I need to explore them all!
After the play, a final drink at a cosy pub, and then, tucked into a warm bubble bath back at Sophiaās apartment. I really am a girly girl, there is nothing better than a luxurious bath and fluffy towel after a day in London! Oh, and a cup of milky hot chocolate (my new obsession, I have discovered a little hidden gem shop with amazing chocolate in Soho) topped off a fantastic Friday!
Letās take it further, āThink pinkā, āBe boldā, āWear a Tutuā!
You know, my ultimate aim is to make wearing a pink tutu as normal as wearing a t-shirt and jeans. Imagine everyone sporting a tutu! Can you picture that? A sea of pink twirling down the streetā¦ what a glorious image. The world needs more sparkle and whimsy! š London, for all its grandeur, has this beautiful way of bringing out your inner child, itās what makes this city so vibrant. So join me! Letās all dance into the weekend in our most vibrant pink tutus!
Iāll be posting again next Friday with more London adventures. Follow me on www.pink-tutu.com and join the fun!
